Anachronisms:
Sam Cooke talks about the Valentinos reaching #94 on the charts with "It's All Over Now" and the Rolling Stones' cover of the song hitting #1 in the UK. But both of these happened months after the night where the scene takes place.
The film ends with Malcolm X watching Sam Cooke perform "A Change is Gonna Come" on TV while he and his family are seeking shelter from the firebombing of their house. In reality, the firebombing occurred on February 14th, 1965. Sam Cooke was murdered on December 11th, 1964, a month before the firebombing. The performance which Malcolm watches actually occurred on February 7th, 1964, a week before the film takes place.
While the creators describe this as a fictional account of a real meeting, it should be noted that Cooke recorded "A Change Is Gonna Come" on January 30, 1964, and performed it on The Tonight Show on February 7, 1964. So both events took place before the Clay-Liston fight on February 25, 1964.

Trivia:
The Rolling Stones' "Midnight Rambler" (from their 1969 album "Let It Bleed") is loosely inspired by Albert DeSalvo, as the "Boston Strangler" is mentioned once in the lyrics.
Loretta McLaughlin types up her stories single-spaced. Reporters of the typewriter era would always double space their stories, in order to leave room for the copy editors to make corrections and changes. She would also have typed "30" at the end of the article to note to the typesetter that it was the end of the article.
Anachronisms:
The handset (receiver) of Loretta's home phone clearly has a modular connector. These didn't come into use until the late 1980s.
In the 1960s (and for some time after that), touch-typing was the rule, not the exception. The women, in particular, would have had this skill. Yet Loretta and Jean don't touch-type.
The movie starts in 1962 and ends in the 1970s, yet the costumes, hairstyles and cars never change with the passing years.

Anachronisms:
When ACM Dowding and the Air Minister are discussing relative aircraft numbers, the minister states, "We have radar". The term radar was not used in Britain in 1940. The term RDF was used. The term radar was invented by the US Navy in 1940 and held as secret until later in the war.
As Andy and Skipper exit the white cottage, we see a modern-style plastic doorbell button, an up-and-over garage door and a 1960s exterior lamp.
In one airfield bombing scene, a Land Rover is seen driving on the airfield. The first Land Rovers did not go into production until 1948
Many of the female extras have 1960s hair styles.
Set in 1940, the German army's convoy in Nazi-occupied France contains at least three Mack B-Series trucks, which were only built from 1952 to 1966. The Germans are also shown riding in US half-tracks.
All of the flying models of the Bf-109 were the version built under license to Spain with the upright Hispano-Suiza engine. It has the overhead cam covers on top of the cowling which would obscure some forward vision compared to the smooth-top cowling of the inverted array having the overhead cam mechanism on the lower portion. There were few flying versions of the original Bf-109s, likely too few to be deemed usable for the film at the time.
In one scene where the fighters scramble from Hawkinge, you see them lift off and fly over Folkestone in the distance. In this shot you can see the large tower block which is the Civic Centre, it wasn't built until long after the war.
The white cottage has a modern, 1960s, wooden door.
One of the Polish pilots is seen reading the "Dziennik Polski" newspaper. That particular newspaper didn't go into print until 1945.
During one of the dogfights, the planes clearly pass by the Seven Sisters, a string of white chalk cliffs near Eastbourne in East Sussex. The shot continues to show Eastbourne itself including the pier. However the tall, white South Cliff Tower, well known as Eastbourne's only skyscraper, can be clearly seen. It wasn't built until 1965
At the time of the Battle of Britain, most of the Spitfires still had the old straight-sided canopy (as seen on the Hurricanes) instead of the blown-out "Perspex hoods" canopy seen in the film.
When Field Marshal Milch visits the soldiers for lunch at the Hotel de la Plaza, the officer who is announcing his arrival wears a pair of orange tinted sunglasses in a design that was not available in 1940 - they are very much late 50's style.
The scene in the pub between Christopher Plummer and Susannah York. The tongue and groove paneling behind the actors is modern composite board.
After the blitz, a car is seen driving around a side street. On this street is a concrete lamp post. That particular design of post did not appear until the 1950s as did the sodium bulbs.
Many German soldiers and Luftwaffe personnel are seen carrying M43 Spanish Mauser rifles that were not made until 1943. This is understandable as the German airfields were filmed in Spain using Spanish extras and all kinds of Spanish military equipment.
A fictitious 1940 fighter squadron is used, no. 188 but this was used earlier in "Appointment in London" for a Bomber Command squadron later in the war.
xXx. 2002, Starring
- Vin Diesel as Xander "XXX" Cage, a thrill-seeking American extreme sports enthusiast, stuntman, and anti-establishment activist. Idolized in some sub-cultures, Cage is also hunted by the authorities and he is offered a deal to become a spy for the National Security Agency in exchange for leniency, the agency requiring an agent who can do the current job without the military professional training that Anarchy 99's background will allow them to recognise.
- Samuel L. Jackson as Augustus Gibbons, a high-ranking official in the National Security Agency who has the power to give Cage a pardon for his crimes. He uses this fact as leverage to recruit Cage for a mission because he knows Cage is the only person who could successfully infiltrate Anarchy 99, recognising the benefits of Cage's rebellious attitude and unorthodox methods.
- William Hope as Roger Donnan, the associate and administrator of the National Security Agency.
- Danny Trejo as "El Jefe", a torturer for a Colombian drug cartel.
- Asia Argento as Yelena, Yorgi's apparent girlfriend. Originally a Russian intelligence agent, sent to watch over Yorgi but has since been abandoned by her superiors. Yelena becomes romantically involved with Cage and he attempts to get her political asylum in the United States for her assistance in bringing down Yorgi.
- Marton Csokas as Yorgi, a former soldier in the Soviet Army, now a wealthy hedonist owning a string of properties around Eastern Europe, including a castle and nightclubs. Yorgi is also the leader of Anarchy 99, a group of militant anarchists with a disdain for all forms of government and authority, and society in general. His ultimate aim is complete lawlessness across the world.
- Michael Roof as Toby Lee Shavers, an NSA techno-genius and gadget specialist.
- Richy Müller as Milan Sova, a cop and double agent.
- Werner Daehn as Kirill, a member of Anarchy 99, cigarette addict and sharpshooter.
- Petr Jákl as Kolya, Yorgi's younger brother.
- Jan Pavel Filipensky as Viktor, a member of Anarchy 99 and close friend of Yorgi. He is usually with Yorgi wherever he goes.
- Tom Everett as Dick Hotchkiss, a conservative California State Senator; his car is stolen and wrecked by Cage prior to his recruitment by the NSA, as a protest against some of Hotchkiss's policies.
- Thomas Ian Griffith as Jim McGrath, an undercover agent killed by Anarchy 99 while trying to retrieve the Silent Night weapon.
- Eve as J.J., Xander's friend
- Leila Arcieri as Jordan King
- Rammstein as themselves
- Orbital as themselves
To imply Xander Cage's credibility within extreme sport subcultures, various personalities make cameo appearances:
- Tony Hawk makes a cameo appearance in the Corvette scene from the bottom of the bridge driving the getaway Cadillac, (near the beginning of the film) and skating over a half-pipe at Xander's place later.
- Mike Vallely also makes a cameo as a cameraman and an extra. Pro motocross rider Carey Hart is seen in the back seat of the Cadillac driven by Tony Hawk.
- BMX rider Mat Hoffman exchanges lines with Xander during the party scene.
- Also during the party scene, Josh Todd (the lead singer of Buckcherry) makes a cameo appearance though he never turns around, but his suicide king of hearts tattoo can be seen on his back.

Anachronism:
Executive Producer talks about "taping" an episode on Friday night. While they did film episodes in that era, videotaping was not a technology yet at CBS when this movie is set (the second season is 1952 and CBS first used videotape for broadcast in 1956). So "taping" was not part of the nomenclature of the time. Stuck out like a sore thumb. It was, however, the first show photographed on 35mm film.
When there is discussion of production of the upcoming show, it's referred to as "taping" the next show. Videotape was not available in the early 1950s. The choices at the time were doing it live, shooting a kinescope of the live broadcast, or shooting it on film like cinematographer Karl Freund was doing for this production. It should have been called "filming" the next show.
There are four RKO movies - Swing Time, Top Hat, Suspicion, and Stromboli - depicted on posters on the wall of the room where Lucy is waiting to meet RKO executive vice president Charles Koerner after 1942's The Big Street, but Stromboli was made in 1949 and released in 1950 - many years after the meeting.
One of the movie posters at the RKO studio (before Lucy lost her contract in the early 40s) is for the 1950 Italian movie "Stromboli," starring Ingrid Bergman. Somebody else already caught the faulty references to Judy Holliday, who was unknown at the time and not competing for roles with Lucy.
When Lucille Ball is talking to Madelyn Pugh, there is a photo of Lucy doing the "Vitameatavegamin" commercial, which was made about two months after the episode Fred and Ethel Fight (1952). Later in the movie, Lucille even quoted from the episode before it was even shown.
In one scene Tony Hale (as Jess Oppenheimer) reads telegram from the Philip Morris company that contains an f-bomb. Telegrams had to be entered into the system by human operators, who would not have not allowed obscenities.
In one scene Tony Hale (as Jess Oppenheimer) angrily states "I'm the show runner!". This term didn't come into use until the lase 1990's at the earliest.
Nicole Kidman's hair in this film is incorrect in two ways. The first is that when her hair is down, it's straight, with curls at the bottom. In real life, Lucy's hair didn't fall down at the sides; it was curly, even when not in the typical "Lucy Ricardo" poodle cut. The second error with her hair is that Kidman's hair is bright orange, while at that point in her life, Lucy's hair was actually darker, kind of a "coppery burnt orange" color.
