Trivia: It is a mystery-action film starring Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery, Lupita Nyong'o and Scoot McNairy and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.[5] This is the first Silver Pictures film to be distributed by Universal Pictures after the end of the production company's deal with Warner Bros., and the first since Weird Science. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Filming began on November 1, 2012 at York Studios in Maspeth, Queens, New York City, then continued at JFK Airport on December 7, 2012, and at Long Island MacArthur Airport. This was the inaugural movie filmed at York Studios.

Crazy Credits: The first part of the end credits is displayed in the fashion of the arrival/departure boards using flipped panels.
While shooting the final scene of the movie, Liam Neeson suffered a stroke but he didn't break character. Director Jaume Collet-Serra revealed this in an interview with a Catalan film review show.

Liam Neeson has frequently been cast as an American agent or soldier, but this a rare such film where his Irish accent, which Neeson uses in all his films, is acknowledged and explained.

The set for the plane was built very slightly larger than a standard commercial airliner to accommodate Neeson's 6'4" height for filming.

Roughly 200 extras were cast and stayed throughout filming.

During the news report, the reporter says that Marks wasn't born in America, but Northern Ireland. This is a reference to Liam Neeson who is originally from Northern Ireland. Also, Marks' US passport list his place of birth as 'Belfast, Northern Ireland'.

The airplane used in the film is a Boeing 767-300.

The main flight attendant's name "Nancy" is from Airport 1975 (1974), while the other flight attendant's name is Gwen, which is from Airport (1970). Nice homage.

After the news reporter states that Liam Neeson's character Bill Marks, was born in Northern Ireland, a passengers suggest that he may be a member of the I.R.A. Liam Neeson played the character of Michael Collins in Michael Collins (1996), who was the founder and leader of the I.R.A.

The aircraft is clearly fictional, a type is never referred to during the course of the film. Whilst it appears to be the size of a Boeing 767-400, the cabin interior, door operation & arrangement and flight deck layout do not match this type of aircraft.

Liam Neeson's character name in this film is Bill Marks. In Taken (2008) and Taken 2 (2012) his name is Bryan Mills. Both share the initials 'B.M.'.
Body Count: 5.

When Marks opens the briefcase again to remove the cocaine, the timer inside reads exactly 13:37. This number is a reference to leetspeak, an alternative Internet alphabet used primarily in online gaming and computer hacking circles.
At one point the pilot turns the plane to the right and he later explains he has been ordered to go north. However, a right turn would turn the plane to the south on a flight from NYC to London.

When the plane is supposedly heading north (to Iceland) the rising sun is shown on the left side of the plane. Obviously when heading north, east is to the right.
Quotes: 1. Bill Marks: "I hate flying. The lines. The crowds. The delays..." Jen Summers: "I always kinda liked it. Six hours. One seat. Nobody can get to you." 2. Bill Marks: "So, where you headed?" Jen Summers: "Mm, depends..." 3. Bill Marks: "Hey Reilly, sorry about the nose." Austin Reilly: "It was never my best feature." Anachronism: Assuming the film is set in 2014 when it was released, then the plane would not have been accompanied by Typhoons while in Icelandic airspace. An Italian contingent were there shortly before the film went into production but were replaced by United States F-15s.

Storyline: A look at the lives of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose paths have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Oklahoma house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
Trivia: It is an American black comedy drama film written by Tracy Letts and based on his Pulitzer Prize–winning play of the same name, and directed by John Wells.[4] It is produced by George Clooney, Jean Doumanian, Grant Heslov, Steve Traxler, and Bob and Harvey Weinstein. The film stars an ensemble cast consisting of Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Juliette Lewis, Margo Martindale, Dermot Mulroney, and Julianne Nicholson as a dysfunctional family that reunites into the familial house when their patriarch (Sam Shepard) suddenly disappears. A modest commercial success, August: Osage County received positive to mixed reviews from critics. While much praise was given to the cast, the screenplay was praised by some and seen by others as too dark and lacking in humor.[5][6] For their performances in the film, Streep and Roberts received Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively. Principal photography took place between October 16 and December 8, 2012,[9] in Bartlesville and Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and Los Angeles, California. Filming locations:

During the opening scene with Beverly and Johnna, one of the only books that's clearly in focus behind Johnna is Isak Dinesen aka Karen Blixen's autobiography "Out of Africa." Meryl Streep starred in the film version of Out of Africa (1985), for which she was also nominated for an Academy Award.

Filming at the house took place in the fall. At times it was as chilly as 40 degrees outside. When the leaves around the house began to turn, the production crew painted them green. When the leaves began falling, computer-generated ones were added in post-production.

Tracy Letts unsuccessfully objected against Harvey Weinstein's decision in the casting of British actors for the film (Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Andrea Riseborough who was nearly cast as Karen) as the characters are written to be all-American, but admitted he had a change of view after seeing the film.

The production crew bought the house and completely refurbished it. Known locally as the 'Boulanger' family home, it was built in 1918 from a Sears & Roebuck catalog with the addition of the two-story columns and surrounding porch. The crew dug up a 100-year-old oak tree at the back of the house and replanted it out front.

"Life is very long" --the opening line spoken by Sam Shepard's character Beverly Weston--is from T.S. Eliot's infamous "Hollow Men" poem, but it's a line borrowed from Joseph Conrad's novel "An Outcast of the Islands". The hollow emptiness of modern, Western life is a grand theme of this movie and its original stage play. Also, the name of the major female character, "Vi" for Violet, is very similar to the name of Eliot's wife, Vivienne. In addition, Sam Shepard--whose father was also a teacher and drinker like the Bev Weston he portrays--has long been a playwright documenting the demise of the American dream in works such as "True West".

One critic noted that the story, in both its stage and film version, "draws heavily on Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes (1941)"
The play August: Osage County won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for its playwright, Tracy Letts. Sam Shepard, who plays family patriarch Beverly Weston in this movie adaptation of Letts' play, won the 1979 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Buried Child (and was also a Pulitzer finalist in 1983 and 1984 for True West and Fool for Love, respectively).
The song in the 2nd Trailer is "Stubborn Love" by the The Lumineers.
The role of Violet Weston was originally played by Deanna Dunagan who won a Tony Award for her performance on Broadway (she also played the role in its world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company). Phylicia Rashad and Estelle Parsons replaced Dunagan later in the play's Broadway run.
Sissy Spacek was considered for the role of Violet Weston.
Early in the movie while someone is driving, the radio announcer states that the song is by JD & The Straight Shot. That is the band of Cablevision CEO and owner of Madison Square Garden, James L. Dolan.
Julia Roberts and Dermot Mulroney previously appeared together in "My Best Friends Wedding" 16 years before this movie.
The original ending simply ends with Violet breaking down with Johnna in her company after all her daughters left the family home. Although this is Tracy Letts and John Wells' preferred ending, the negative test audience reaction from previews prompted producer Harvey Weinstein to demand the ending to be replaced with a new ending. According to Wells, the preview audience's bone of contention was on the resolution of Barbara whom they were assuming that she ends up in the similar predicament as Violet, but it turns out not to be as it was implied.
The sheriff's car bears an Oklahoma County license plate. Oklahoma County is about 2 1/2 hours away from Osage County.
Quotes: 1. Barbara Weston: [To her daughter] "Listen to me! Die after me, alright. I don't care what else you do, where you go, cause I screwed up your life, but just survive. Please!" 2. Barbara Weston: "What were these people thinking, the jokers who settled this place? Who was the asshole that looked at all that flat, hot nothing, and then planted his flag? I mean, we fucked the Indians for this?" Bill Fordham: "Well, genocide always seems like such a good idea at the time." 3. Ivy Weston: "Are you supposed to be smoking?" Violet Weston: "Is anybody supposed to smoke?" 4. Barbara Weston: "Thank God we can't tell the future, we could never get out of bed."

Filming Locations: Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

Alternate Versions:
German version was cut for violence to secure a "Not under 18" rating.
When the poster was released for Australian cinemas it was classified R but had to be censored down to MA by 2 minutes.
Now released in Australia uncut only on Blu Ray as R Rated Directors Cut and censored cut rated MA on DVD.
Ironically, John Jarratt does not like to watch horror movies and stated that watching Psycho (1960) frightened him when he was a child.
In the opening scene with the two policemen, a partially deteriorated billboard reading "Golden Fleece" can be seen by the highway. Golden Fleece is an actual name of several companies in Australia.
Mick Taylor makes Paul Hammersmith play a quiz which he calls "Aussie History". He asks him the following questions:
Q. What Aboriginal term meaning "waterhole" is also the name of an Australian surf clothing company?
A. Billabong
Q. In what year did the British settle in Australia?
A. After Lieutenant James Cook discovered the east coast and mapped it in 1770, the First Fleet arrived and settled on 26th of January, 1788.
Q. In what year did the British start deporting convicts to Australia?
A. The first 11 ships of the First Fleet arrived with their cargo of around 780 British convicts in Botany Bay, New South Wales. And a further two convict fleets arrived in 1790 and 1791. The first free settlers arrived in 1793.
Q. Why did the British deport convicts to Australia?
A. After the British lost the 13 colonies they'd lost their penal settlements in Virginia in the United States. And they needed somewhere to put all the criminals that were stacking up in England. There were just too many of these people, and they were just spreading disease and wasting resources. And, second of all, ... Australia looked to be as rich in resources as the Americas. And obviously the British wanted to settle this before the French did, or the Dutch.
Mick Taylor does not except this answer. He says it was "because they are a pack of Pommy c*nts!" He then admits that Paul is technically right.
Q. Who's Australia's most famous cricketer?
A. Dennis Lillee.
Mick Taylor never admits if this is correct. He loses his temper. Later Paul says....
A. It's Don Bradman, bitch.
On Screen Kills - 7.
The road signs displayed near the beginning of the movie, when they fail to be picked up by Mick, show Derby and Halls Creek behind them connecting with National Highway 1 with Port Hedland and Perth to the left and Kununurra and Darwin to the Right. This is Geographically impossible as halls creek is on National Highway 1. Also Derby is located on the Western side of National Highway 1 which means that Port Hedland and Perth are to the Right and Kununurra and Darwin are to the Left. Also a road distance marker is shown as Mick drives away showing "D 130" meaning that Darwin is 130Km away, assuming they are at the turn off to Derby then Darwin is actually 1700km away.
Western Australia does not have a dedicated highway patrol unit. All law enforcement on WA roads is done by the state police whom use the standard state police decal on their vehicles.
The speed limit on highways in North Western Australia is 110km/h not 100km/h.
Quote: Cop #2: "You shoot pigs for a living?" Mick Taylor: "Ya bet your life!" [winks]

Trivia: It is an American comedy-drama film directed by Ken Scott, produced by DreamWorks Pictures, and starring Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt, and Cobie Smulders. The film was released by Touchstone Pictures on November 22, 2013. It is a remake of Scott's 2011 French-Canadian film, Starbuck. The film is a remake of the 2011 French-Canadian film Starbuck which was also directed by Scott; Starbuck was also the working title for the English-language production. Filming began in October 2012 in the Hudson Valley of New York. Filming then moved to New York City locales, in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Concerning the number of extras as the children, actor Dave Patten said, "There were ten of us who were constants on the sets so we didn’t really bond with the others who were extras. But the ten of us became a huge pack of friends and it was really nice. There are usually a lot of egos on set when it comes to a big cast which causes people not to get along but we didn’t have that issue." Delivery Man received mixed reviews from critics. Filming locations: Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA (exteriors of buildings on 10th Avenue between Sherman and Windsor Place); Schiller's Liquor Bar, 131 Rivington Street, New York City, New York, USA.
Chris Pratt gained 60 pounds for his role as David's out-of-shape friend, Brett.
Despite the subject matter, Emma is the only mother in the movie.
The actual meat store used in the film is Morscher's Pork Store of Ridgewood, NY.
Remake of the 2011 Quebec film, Starbuck, where a slacker character, played by Patrick Hulard, discovers years later his donation fathered 500 children. This movie is also written and directed by Ken Scott.
In the scene where David (Vince Vaughn) invites Viggo (Adam Chanler-Berat) to play basketball, Viggo is reading the famous "Critique of pure reason" by Immanuel Kant. Quote: David: "Congratulations, 'darling'." Brett: "I had it. I had pitched the perfect game, and I had to screw the whole thing up. My mother saw the whole thing on TV." David: "She must have been surprised to find out that you had a male lover." Brett: "No. She said she always suspected it. She told me we would make a lovely couple." David: "And your kids?" Brett: "They think it's cool."

Trivia: It is a Canadian-Spanish psychological thriller film directed by Denis Villeneuve; it was loosely adapted by Javier Gullón from José Saramago's 2002 novel The Double.[4] The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal as two characters, and co-stars Mélanie Laurent, Isabella Rossellini, Sarah Gadon, Stephen R. Hart, and Jane Moffat. It was screened in the Special Presentation section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Enemy earned five Canadian Screen Awards; Best Director for Villeneuve,[6] as well as a Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role and Best Picture. Enemy received generally positive reviews from critics. Analysis: Forrest Wickman of Slate states that the opening line of the film, "Chaos is order yet undeciphered" is from a line from José Saramago's The Double, the novel on which the film is based. Wickman suggests that Enemy is "a parable about what it's like to live under a totalitarian state without knowing it."

Filming locations: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
The cast signed a confidentiality agreement that doesn't allow them to speak and/or explain to the press the meaning of spiders in the movie.

According to the director, Denis Villeneuve, Javier Bardem was offered the lead role but the actor felt he didn't suit the character. Christian Bale was also offered the role and he wanted to do it but couldn't due to scheduling conflicts with other projects.
The film titled "When there is a will, there ia a way" in the movie came from a high school english teacher of Denis Villeneuve, as a catchphrase to give students the will to push harder in life.

The quote which precedes the film's opening - 'chaos is order yet undeciphered' - is taken from the source novel 'The Double' by José Saramago.
The spider that is walking through the city is a reference to Louise Bourgeois' sculpture which is called 'Maman'.
While no explanation was given for the presence of spiders, it has been analyzed by many people that they represent as Adam/Anthony's weakness to women, making him less dominant.
Quotes: 1. Title Card: "Chaos is order yet undeciphered." 2. Adam: "How many months are you?" Helen: "Six months." Adam: "That's nice. I should be going. I have a class I have to teach." [He laughs while she looks freaked] Anthony: "You never know how your day is gonna turn out. Have a nice day." Anachronism: Actors search Google to identify each other and Google screen is using predictive search which they had not yet rolled out at the time the movie was set.
