Trivia: It is an American romantic comedy-drama film written, produced and directed by Cameron Crowe. The film received negative reviews from critics, and has grossed only $26 million against a budget of $37 million, making the film a box office bomb. Controversy: The film became controversial due to the Media Action Network for Asian-Americans accusing it of whitewashing the cast, and Crowe has apologized about the casting of Emma Stone as a character who is meant to be of one quarter Chinese and one quarter Hawaiian descent. In June 2015, Crowe responded to the backlash: "I have heard your words and your disappointment, and I offer you a heart-felt apology to all who felt this was an odd or misguided casting choice. As far back as 2007, Captain Allison Ng was written to be a super-proud one quarter Hawaiian who was frustrated that, by all outward appearances, she looked nothing like one. A half-Chinese father was meant to show the surprising mix of cultures often prevalent in Hawaii. Extremely proud of her unlikely heritage, she feels personally compelled to over-explain every chance she gets. The character was based on a real-life, red-headed local who did just that." However, Sony Pictures defended the film's portrayal of Hawaiian culture stating, "While some have been quick to judge a movie they haven't seen and a script they haven't read, the film 'Aloha' respectfully showcases the spirit and culture of the Hawaiian people. Emma Stone later said she regretted herself being miscast, and acknowledged whitewashing as a prevalent problem in Hollywood.
Dennis "Bumpy" Pu‘uhonua Kanahele is a Hawaiian nationalist leader and titular head of state of the group Nation of Hawai'i. He spearheaded the founding of Pu‘uhonua o Waimānalo, a Hawaiian cultural village and traditional lo‘i kalo (taro paddy) agricultural restoration project in Waimānalo, Hawai‘i. Pu‘uhonua is a Hawaiian word meaning "sanctuary" or "place of refuge". The Nation of Hawai‘i group, which administers the village, regards itself as a sovereign government under international law, acting as a successor state to the independent Kingdom of Hawai‘i and therefore not subject to United States rule. Kanahele, like many Hawaiians, claims to be a descendant of King Kamehameha I.

The General makes reference to "Equatorial New Guinea," combining two different regions of Earth. Equatorial Guinea is on the west coast of Africa, and Papua New Guinea is just north of Australia. Papua New Guinea is just south of the equator and Equatorial Guinea is just north of the equator.
In the old footage at the beginning, President Dwight D. Eisenhower is signing the papers accepting Hawaii as a state. It was the 50th state but the sign seen in the montage said 49th state.

Trivia: It is an American buddy comedy film directed by Etan Cohen (in his directorial debut) and written by Cohen, Jay Martel and Ian Roberts. The film stars Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, Alison Brie, Edwina Findley, T.I., and Craig T. Nelson. The film was released on March 27, 2015 to negative reviews but was a financial success, grossing over $111 million. Principal photography began on March 17, 2014 in New Orleans. The film was somewhat controversial with some perceiving that it was playing into race related stereotypes. During some scenes Cohen asked Hart's opinion on how some jokes would be perceived by African American audiences and made some changes accordingly. Warner Brothers and Cohen also performed extensive testing to make sure the humor came across well.

Trivia: It is an American found footage supernatural horror film directed by Russo-Georgian director Levan Gabriadze, written by Nelson Greaves, exec-produced by Jason Blum, co-produced by Adam Sidman, and produced by Timur Bekmambetov and Greaves. The film premiered at the Fantasia Festival on July 20, 2014, and at SXSW on March 13, 2015. It received a theatrical release on April 17, 2015. The film, which is told entirely through a high school student's Macbook screen, stars Shelley Hennig as one of several friends who find themselves terrorized online by an anonymous person. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics and has grossed $62 million against a $1 million budget. A sequel to the film has been greenlit and is expecting a 2016 release. Writer Nelson Greaves makes a cameo as one of Blaire's Facebook friends. Filming Locations: Santa Clarita, California, USA.
At the start, the Universal logo starts breaking up like a bad connection.
The end credits glitch with the song Ghost In My Head and various character quotes and screams.
Before principal photography began, the cast rehearsed at Bekmambetov's Bazelevs production offices, sitting in a circle and going through the script. The way the film was shot, the cast members were completely separate from one another, each operating from a desktop in a separate room in a house in Santa Clarita, California.
Gabriadaze would message the cast members that would cue the cast and help them to react organically, in particular Moses Storm.

During the first scene when the guys are out at the pool you see a beautiful girl in a red bikini coming out of the water. This is clearly a tribute to Kevin Klines (Sam) real life wife, Phoebe Cate's. Cates who played Linda Hamilton. In that movie the scene where Linda comes out of Mark Ratner's pool is one of the most remembered fantasy scenes in movie history.
American Idol (2002) (TV Series) - Diana says, "I'm a little old for 'American Idol.'"
Though the four male leads had crossed paths before at various times in their careers, this marks the first ever joint venture for all four men. Quotes: 1. Hot Waitress: "Do you guys have drugs?" Sam: "Does Lipitor count?" 2. Sam: [Unfamiliar with the famous hip hop artist] "...the guest who canceled, 50 cent piece."

Miranda Cosgrove (who plays Rose) was the main character on the Nickelodeon hit T.V series ICarly (2007-2012). Her co-star in this film, Austin Butler, guess-stared on the show a couple of times.
The spooky house that Miranda Cosgrove's character, Rose, moves into in the movie is actually for sale and the street address used in the movie is the address of the real house: 340 Laura Ave. However, the house is located in Canada, not in Chicago where the story takes place.

Trivia: It is an action film directed and produced by George Miller, and written by Miller, Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. The fourth instalment in the Mad Max franchise, it is an Australian and American venture produced by Kennedy Miller Mitchell, RatPac-Dune Entertainment and Village Roadshow Pictures. It is set in a future desert wasteland where gasoline and water are scarce commodities. It follows Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), who joins forces with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) to flee from cult leader Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his army in an armoured tanker truck, which leads to a lengthy road battle. Fury Road was in "development hell" for many years, with pre-production starting as early as 1997. Early attempts were made to shoot the film in 2001 and 2003, but were delayed due to the September 11 attacks and the Iraq War. In 2007, after focusing on Happy Feet, Miller decided to pursue producing the film again. He briefly considered producing it as a computer-animated film but abandoned it in favour of live-action. In 2009, Miller announced that filming would begin in early 2011. Hardy was cast as Max in June 2010, with production planned to begin that November. Principal photography was delayed several more times before beginning in July 2012. The film wrapped in December 2012, although additional footage was shot in November 2013. It has grossed over $375 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing film in the Mad Max franchise. The film was widely acclaimed for its acting, direction, screenplay, visual storytelling, score, practical effects, stunts and action sequences, and is considered one of the greatest action films of all time as well as one of the best films of 2015 by many critics and publications. It won the National Board of Review Award for Best Film, seven AACTA Awards including Best Film and Best Direction, and received Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Director. Henchman, Tom Virtue as Priest 3 and Lenny von Dohlen as Joe. Movie Central, January 14, 2016. Music by John Debney. Soundtrack: "When A King Becomes A Clown" - Performed by Cliff Darby. Trivia: It is an American mystery thriller film directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film is a remake of the 1989 Hindi film Parinda, a remake of the director's own Bollywood movie. Filming locations: Death Valley, California, USA; Victorville, California, USA (street scenes); Victorville, California, USA (Theater Exterior & Railroad Tracks). Broken Horses is the first Hollywood movie that has been Produced, Directed and Written by an Indian : Vidhu Vinod Chopra. James Cameron called it an "artistic triumph" while Gravity's Alfonso Cuaron says he was "overwhelmed" by the film. Chris Marquette and Sean Patrick Flanery replaced respectively Ben Foster and Val Kilmer. Vidhu Vinod Chopra's second attempt at a Hollywood project. First was when the script of Munnabhai M.B.B.S was picked up by a leading studio who wanted to remake the film with Chris Tucker in the titular character. The project fell through though. The exterior of the "Alamo" - first visible just before the dinner scene in which Buster Keaton's "The General" (1926) is playing in the background - is a former movie theater in Victorville, California once called the La Mesa Theater. Also, the streets surrounding that building were featured prominently in the motorcycle chase scene in "Electra Glide in Blue" (1973), which starred Robert Blake.

Trivia: It is an American science fiction film directed by South African Neill Blomkamp. The screenplay, written by Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell, is based on Blomkamp's 2004 short film Tetra Vaal.[5] The film stars Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Sigourney Weaver, Hugh Jackman, and Watkin Tudor Jones (Ninja) and Yolandi Visser of the South African zef rap-rave group Die Antwoord. The film, set and shot in Johannesburg, is about an artificially intelligent law enforcement robot captured and taught by gangsters, who nickname it Chappie. Chappie was produced and distributed by US-based companies and is classified as an American film. It premiered in New York City on March 4, 2015, and was released in U.S. cinemas on March 6, 2015. The film grossed $102 million worldwide against a $49 million budget. At the review aggregators, Rotten Tomatoes rated it 31%, and Metacritic rated it 41/100. Copley acted out the scenes in front of the camera interacting with the rest of the cast and lent his voice. Contrary to popular belief the production did not use motion capture and Copley's performance was used only as a reference by the animators who replaced him with the CGI for Chappie. The house used for Hippo's lair was Neill Blomkamp's childhood home.
The movie stars controversial South African rap-rave group Die Antwoord, who are fans of Neill Blomkamp's work. Ninja has a District 9 (2009) tattoo on his inner lip.
The word 'zef' is an Afrikaans slang word, which roughly translates to the English word 'common'. Also means 'uncool' in Afrikaans. It differs from the Australian term 'bogan' and the British term 'chav' in that it is mostly a positive term for oneself, rather than a derogatory term for someone else. It is also not typical of the poorest classes of the society, but rather a mostly white, lower-middle class subculture.
The name Tetravaal can be seen in District 9 (2009) on a wall when Wikus and Christopher enter in the MNU laboratories to steal the mothership fuel. Quote: Chappie: :I've got blings?... I've got blings!"

Trivia: It is an American mystery thriller film directed by Rupert Goold and written by Goold and David Kajganich. Based on the memoir of the same name by Michael Finkel, the film stars Jonah Hill and James Franco. Other actors include Felicity Jones, Gretchen Mol, Betty Gilpin, and John Sharian. Franco plays Christian Longo, a man on the FBI's most wanted list for murdering his wife and three children in Oregon. He hid in Mexico under the identity of Michael Finkel, a journalist, played by Hill. The film premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically on April 17, 2015 in the United States. The film explores the relationship that develops between the two men after the journalist Finkel begins to meet with Longo in prison. The scene where Jonah Hill punches the bathroom stall was improvised. He actually ended up hurting his hand and had to go the the hospital afterwards, but ended up just being a slight bruised bone. References: Easy Rider (1969) - In the flashback scene where the audience is introduced to the younger and wilder Brown couple, they are seen riding a bike with the classic Steppenwolf song.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Paddington picks up his hat that just fell right before the grating falls down on him.
Mission: Impossible (1996)
When Paddington climbs the chimney with the hoovers, the Mission: Impossible theme is heard.
The Hours (2002)
A poster of Virginia Woolf is prominent in the school scene, a possible nod to Nicole Kidman who has a lead villain role in the Paddington movie.
The Thick of It (2005) (TV Series)
There is a scene where it is implied that Mr Curry (played by Peter Capaldi) stole flowers from a roadside memorial. This mirrors a scene in The Thick of It where his character does a similar thing, claiming that "it's one of the many advantages of living near an accident blackspot".
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)
When Paddington climbs up the chimney he uses small hoovers with power lights on them, similar to the gloves used by Ethan when climbing up the skyscaper in Dubai. Also the music of MI is audible for a short moment.

George Fouracres as Clerk and Richard Clark as Court Usher. Movie Central, January 25, 2016. Soundtrack: Music by Alexander Balanescu. Trivia: Directed by Sheree Folkson and written by David Eldridge and Hallie Rubenhold (book). Filming locations: Clandon Hall, Guildford, Surrey, England, UK (Interiors - Appuldurcombe House, hotel); Chiswick House, Burlington Lane, Chiswick, London, England, UK; Ham House, Richmond, Surrey, England, UK. Due to a tight budget the director had them film all the sex scenes on one day. Takes place in the 18th century. The red riding habit with the black and white trimmings that Natalie Dormer wears as Lady Worsley is as closely as possible identical to the one the real Lady Worsley is shown wearing in the portrait of her painted by Joshua Reynolds in 1775. It was based on the uniform of her husband's regiment, and the original is now kept at Harewood House. The waltz played towards the final scenes is 'Invitation to the Dance' by Carl Von Weber which was composed as a piano piece in 1819 and as an orchestration in 1841 by Hector Berlioz after Von Weber's death. Waltz music and dance was considered scandalous in its early days and only became fashionable in the 19th century. This is one of the earliest waltz compositions.

The ranch dogs named Augustus was in tribute to Robert Duval's character, Augustus McCrae in the epic movie Lonesome Dove.
In the scene where the local law man meets with several gang members to order a hit on one of the Texas Rangers, the extras were originally intended to take up space in the background. However, Robert Duvall felt the scene was too awkward and lacked authenticity so he ended up giving some of the extras a couple lines in the scene.
Luciana Duvall is an Argentine actor, and the wife of Robert Duvall. She met Duvall, who is 41 years her senior, on the street where she invited him to a party, without knowing he was Robert Duvall.

Trivia: It is a Canadian psychological thriller co-written, directed and produced by Xavier Dolan. The film is based on the play of the same name by Michel Marc Bouchard. It was screened in the main competition section at the 70th Venice International Film Festival on 2 September 2013, and also at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival in the Special Presentation section. At Venice the film won the FIPRESCI Prize. The film was a shortlisted nominee for Best Picture at the 2nd Canadian Screen Awards. Tom at the Farm has received generally favorable reviews. The Hollywood Reporter's critic David Rooney reviewed the film unfavorably and criticized Dolan for being self-obsessed. He wrote: "It's also hard to take the film seriously when scene after scene explores the director's face with such swooning intoxication. Shots of Tom are held and held and then held some more—at the wheel of his car, in the cornfields, running in slow motion with his blond locks dancing in the breeze, sitting pensively on a bed in his underwear, or looking out through a screen door as a single tear streaks his face, like Anne Hathaway in Les Miserables". Dolan replied to Rooney in a tweet: "You can kiss my narcissistic ass." Filming locations:
Montréal, Québec, Canada (final scenes)
Québec, Canada
Saint-Blaise-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada
La Prairie, Québec, Canada
Saint-Philippe, Québec, Canada.
This is the first film that Xavier Dolan didn't write on his own.
Lise Roy and Evelyne Brochu were in the original production of the play.
The first film of Xavier Dolan to be distributed by Entertainment One, since Alliance Atlantis was acquired by Entertainment One in 2013.

The Riot Club. 2014 (British), Starring
Max Irons as Miles 'Milo' Richards - A first-year student who joins the Riot Club. Miles possesses the 'honourable' title which implies that his father is either an Earl, Baron or Viscount. Miles is politically left and becomes uncomfortable and disillusioned with the actions of his club mates. He attended Westminster School.[4]
Sam Claflin as Alistair Ryle - A first-year student whose brother, Sebastian, was considered a 'legendary' member of the Riot Club. Alistair is politically right, leading to intense conflict and rivalry with Miles. Alistair attended Harrow School, unlike his brother, who attended Eton.[5]
Douglas Booth as Harry Villiers - An older, charismatic student whose family is quite wealthy, though they partially maintain this by allowing tourists to view their home, something which deeply rankles Harry. His uncle, Jeremy, was previously a member of the Riot Club. Educated at Eton.[5]
Holliday Grainger as Lauren - A Northern first-year student from a middle-class/working-class family who enters into a relationship with Miles at the start of the film.
Freddie Fox as James Leighton-Masters - The outgoing president of the club; he is criticized by the other members of the club for scaling back the club's activities in an effort to not jeopardize his future.
Natalie Dormer as Charlie - An escort hired by Harry.[6]
Gordon Brown as Chris - Owner of the pub where the club has their dinner.
Jessica Brown Findlay as Rachel - Daughter of Chris and a waitress at his pub.
Sam Reid as Hugo Fraser-Tyrwhitt - An older student whose family, though aristocratic, is not financially well-off. He attended Westminster with Miles and although they didn't socialize, Miles remembers Hugo composing limericks in Latin, something which is implied got him bullied. Hugo is homosexual, and has a romantic interest in Miles.
Ben Schnetzer as Dimitri Mitropoulos - An older student of Greek heritage who seems to act as the club's primary bankroll. It is also suggested that Dimitri is nouveau riche. He appears to have a close friendship with Guy Bellingfield, though it is the very same member who constantly mocks Dimitri and his heritage.
Matthew Beard as Guy Bellingfield - An older student who makes no secret of his desire to succeed James as president of the club. He is close friends with Dimitri, though he often makes jokes about his Greek heritage. He presents himself as very enthusiastic with little to no regard for any serious matters.
Tom Hollander as Jeremy Villiers MP - Harry's uncle and a successful Conservative MP. In the play, he is Guy's godfather.
Jack Farthing as George Balfour - A 'country gentleman' who displays enthusiastic interest and knowledge in farming, farming equipment, pheasants and llamas. Balfour seems more egalitarian than some of his fellow club mates, and spends time with his family's tenant farmers, though Alistair manipulates Balfour's insecurity about his position with the farmers to convince him to take part.
Olly Alexander as Toby Maitland - An older student who appears to have a very close friendship with Ed. Attended Eton.
Josh O'Connor as Ed Montgomery - An older student who appears to have a very close friendship with Toby. Attended Eton.
Andrew Woodall as Alistair's father.
Anastasia Hille as Alistair's mother.

Trivia: It is a British drama thriller film directed by Lone Scherfig and written by Laura Wade, based on Wade's 2010 play Posh.[1] The film stars Max Irons, Sam Claflin and Douglas Booth.[2] It is set among the Riot Club, a fictional all-male, exclusive dining club at Oxford University. When the play Posh premiered, the Riot Club was often described as a thinly veiled version of the real-life Bullingdon Club, or High Trees Society, although according to Wade it is entirely fictitious. Filming locations:
Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England, UK
Winchester Great Hall, Castle Avenue, Winchester, Hampshire, England, UK
Wrotham Park, Barnet, Hertfordshire, England, UK (country estate).
Robert Pattinson, Sam Claflin, Douglas Booth and Max Irons were considered for the lead roles. Pattinson was the only one which ended up not being cast.
The film was originally a successful play 'Posh' that premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2010, before transferring to the London West End.
Olly Alexander, who plays Toby Maitland, is now in a successful electro-pop band called Years and Years. They currently have a number one single called King.
This is the second collaboration between Holiday Granger and a member of the Irons family. Before co-starring with Max Irons in The Riot Club, she used to act next to his father, Jeremy Irons, as Lucrezia in The Borgias.
The film was produced with development support from the UK BFI Film Fund and Film4.
Sam Claflin and Natalie Dormer starred together in the Hunger Games trilogy.

Trivia: It is a romantic World War II drama film directed by Saul Dibb and co-written with Matt Charman. It is based on part of Irène Némirovsky's 2004 novel of the same name. The rights to Irène Némirovsky's novel Suite Française (written during the Nazi occupation of France but published posthumously in 2004) was acquired by Universal Pictures. The film centres on a romance between a French villager and a German soldier during the early years of the German occupation of France. Suite Française was filmed on location in France and Belgium. Filming locations:
Hainaut, Belgium
Marville, Meuse, Lorraine, France
Virton, Luxembourg, Belgium
Brabant Wallon, Belgium.
The movie is based on Irène Némirovsky's book "Suite Française" and focuses on the novel "Dolce". The book was only found after Némirovsky's death at a concentration camp in Auschwitz in 1942. Her elder daughter, Denise Epstein, kept the notebook containing the manuscript of Suite Française for fifty years without reading it, believing that it would indeed be a journal or diary too painful to read. In the late 1990s, however, having made arrangements to donate her mother's papers to a French archive, Denise decided to examine the notebook first. At last discovering what it contained, she instead had it published in France, where it became a bestseller in 2004.
Matthias Schoenaerts played the piano when he was a kid, so he had a little basis, but he wanted to learn how to play for real in the film. Matthias Schoenaerts learned to speak German for his role.
Initially, Matthias Schoenaerts didn't want to accept the role of a Nazi officer for moral issues, but he changed his mind after he read the book in which the movie is based and thought, "if the writer loves the character so much, then I have to allow myself to love him as well".

Trivia: It is a drama film edited, written and directed by Gus Van Sant. It takes place in the fictional Watt High School, in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon, and chronicles the events surrounding a school shooting, based in part on the 1999 Columbine High School massacre. The film begins a short time before the shooting occurs, following the lives of several characters both in and out of school, who are unaware of what is about to unfold. The film stars mostly new or non-professional actors, including John Robinson, Alex Frost, and Eric Deulen. Elephant is the second film in Van Sant's "Death Trilogy" — the first is Gerry (2002) and the third Last Days (2005) — all three of which are based on actual events. Elephant was generally acclaimed by critics and received the Palme d'Or at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival, in which Patrice Chéreau was the head of the jury. As the first high-profile movie to depict a high school shooting since Columbine, the film was controversial for its subject matter and possible influence on teenage copy-cats. Filming locations
Portland, Oregon, USA
Whitaker Middle School, 5700 NE 39th, Portland, Oregon, USA.
Alex Frost as Alex, the more intelligent of the two killers, implied to be the one in charge. He is an accomplished but frustrated pianist and sketch artist. He and Eric kiss before the massacre, both citing the fact that they had never been kissed.
Eric Deulen as Eric, a slacker, Alex's friend, and the other killer. He is less intelligent than Alex, and Alex is obviously aware of this. He is shot in the chest by Alex near the end of the film, while talking about who he had killed earlier.
John Robinson as John McFarland, Alex's friend who has trouble at school while managing his alcoholic father. Alex warns him to stay away from the massacre.
Timothy Bottoms as Mr. McFarland, John's alcoholic father.
Matt Malloy as Mr. Luce, the principal of the school. Cornered by Eric, who briefly spares him, he is presumed dead after being shot several times.
Elias McConnell as Elias, a photography student building his portfolio with portraits of other students.
Nathan Tyson and Carrie Finklea as Nathan and Carrie, a popular lifeguard/football player and his girlfriend. Alex taunts them with Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
Kristen Hicks as Michelle, a nerdy girl ashamed of her body. The film follows her through the locker room and into the library where she assists. She is the first to die during the massacre.
Brittany Mountain, Jordan Taylor, and Nicole George as Brittany, Jordan, and Nicole, three bulimic girls who talk incessantly, gripe about parents, and squabble with one another.
Bennie Dixon as Benny, an athletic student who helps Acadia escape out of a window before approaching Eric. He is shot and presumed dead.
Alicia Miles as Acadia, a close friend of John and a member of the Gay-Straight Alliance. She is assumed to have a panic disorder which causes her to freeze and break down in times of fear or stress. During the shooting, Benny discovers her standing still in a classroom and helps her escape from the school and the shooters.

The video game the two boys play, before going on their killing spree, features two characters, looking and dressing exactly like the two title characters of Van Sant's previous film. The director commented on that connection in an interview with Roger Ebert.
The school this was filmed at (Whitaker Middle School, formerly Adams High School in Portland, OR) was torn down in 2007 due to asbestos and black mold. The school had already been shut down when the film was shot.
There are approximately 88 shots in this film. More than half of those shots are in the last twenty minutes of the film.
The film is partly inspired by "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey", a 1971 song by Paul and Linda McCartney.
