The Village Roger Ebert review: "The Village is a colossal miscalculation, a movie based on a premise that cannot support it, a premise so transparent it would be laughable were the movie not so deadly solemn... Eventually the secret of Those, etc., is revealed. To call it an anticlimax would be an insult not only to climaxes but to prefixes. It's a crummy secret, about one step up the ladder of narrative originality from It Was All a Dream. It's so witless, in fact, that when we do discover the secret, we want to rewind the film so we don't know the secret anymore. And then keep on rewinding, and rewinding, until we're back at the beginning, and can get up from our seats and walk backward out of the theater and go down the up escalator and watch the money spring from the cash register into our pockets." http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-village-2004; July 19, 2004. shomi, July 16, 2016.

Hitman. 2007 French-American-British action-thriller film directed by Xavier Gens and based on the video game series of the same name. The story revolves around Agent 47, a professional hitman, who was engineered to be an assassin by the group known as "The Organization". He becomes ensnared in a political conspiracy and finds himself pursued by both Interpol and Russian intelligence. The film stars Timothy Olyphant, Olga Kurylenko and Dougray Scott and was released on November 21, 2007 in the United States, November 30, 2007 in the United Kingdom and December 26, 2007 in France. Though critically not well-received, it was a financial success, grossing $99 million against a $24 million budget. A sequel was canceled during the production, but it was followed by a reboot titled Hitman: Agent 47 starring Rupert Friend as Agent 47, released on August 21, 2015. shomi, July 17, 2016.

Trivia: It is an American biographical drama film directed by Tom McCarthy and written by McCarthy and Josh Singer.[4][5] The film follows The Boston Globe's "Spotlight" team, the oldest continuously operating newspaper investigative journalist unit in the United States,[6] and its investigation into cases of widespread and systemic child sex abuse in the Boston area by numerous Roman Catholic priests. It is based on a series of stories by the "Spotlight" team that earned The Globe the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. Spotlight won the Academy Award for Best Picture along with Best Original Screenplay. Principal photography began on September 24, 2014, in Boston, Massachusetts,[23] and continued in October in Hamilton, Ontario. Filming took place at Fenway Park,[24] The Boston Globe offices in Dorchester, Boston, the Boston Public Library,[25] and McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Filming locations:
333 Bay Street, Bay-Adelaide Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Anachronisms: 1. Through much of the film, a Dunkin' Donuts cup on Matt Caroll's desk features an icon for the "DD Perks" program, introduced in 2014. 2. The small bags of Doritos in the Globe break room have a 2013 logo. 3. Toward the end of the movie Boston Globe Trucks hauling newspapers are shown leaving the garage however there are a couple newer model (2010 and newer) heavy duty trucks in the garage alongside correct period 2001 Ford F-800 models. 4. When Mike Rezendes enters the Globe after getting out of the cab, a Star Market sign is visible behind him. The supermarket near the Globe headquarters was a Shaw's in 2001. It became a Star Market in 2011. 5. Some of the keyboards and mice on various desks weren't in production when the film takes place, and some didn't even enter production for nearly a decade after the events of the film. For example, the pair on Ben Bradlee's desk were included with Dell desktops released well after 2010. 6. The Massachusetts license plate briefly shown on the car in the 1976 flashback scene (leaving the police station) is not correct. 7. At one point two characters meet at the South End Buttery, which did not open until 2005. 7. The printer visible in the Spotlight team's office is clearly an HP Laserjet 4200/4300 Series model. This series was not introduced until December 2002, over a year after the bulk of the story's events occur. 8. There is a Starbucks coffee shop in the background when they are crossing the street. Starbucks was not present in Boston at this time. 9. In one shot there is a 2003 Toyota Corolla parked on the street.

Trivia: It is an Irish-British-Canadian drama directed by John Crowley and written by Nick Hornby, based on Colm Tóibín's novel of the same name. The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen, Domhnall Gleeson, Jim Broadbent, and Julie Walters. Set in 1951 and 1952, the film tells the story of a young Irish woman's immigration to Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within them for her. Brooklyn premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim.[4] It opened in limited release on 4 November 2015 in the United States and the UK on 6 November 2015.[5] The film was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay. References: Singin' in the Rain (1952) - Eilis and Tony see this; after, Tony swings on a light pole in the style of that movie.
The Quiet Man (1952) - One of the other girls tells Eilis she saw this movie.
"Frankie's Song" (also known as 'Casadh An Tsúgáin') was originally produced by the Irish Literary Theatre and premiered on 21st of October 1901 at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin. Anachronisms: 1. In scene where an Irish singer serenades an audience, at the top of a frame is an air conditioning duct that would not have existed in such a space in 1952. 2. The film takes place in 1951-1952. As Eilis is walking down a street in Brooklyn, there is a 1955 Buick in the background. 3. The registration ZL 4994 on the black saloon car is in an incorrect typeface. That style of font was not used in Ireland until the late 1990s. 4. The characters go for a 1951 date in Brooklyn, NY, to see the movie "Singin' in the Rain" - that movie was not on general release in USA cinemas until 11 April 1952 - - - (with 27 March 1952 world premiere in New York City, New York) 5. In the very early scene in Brooklyn where people are on the street corner waiting for the light to change, the traffic light itself is of a much later design than the early 1950's. 6. As they leave Nancy's wedding, the incidental music coming from the church is Pachelbel's Canon in D. While it was composed in the late 17th century and is frequently played at weddings today, it was an obscure and almost forgotten piece in 1952. It only became famous when a new arrangement, tempo and some additional parts were added to it for a 1968 recording. Even in the unlikely case of someone playing it at a wedding in a small Irish town in 1952, it would have sounded nothing like what we hear in the film which is the modern version we play today. 7. When Rose is found dead in her bedroom, one can see in the background what appears to be a modern hair dryer sitting on top of the dresser. 8. The telephone cord on the Brooklyn phone is a twirly type that was not used until the late 50's.
