Anachronisms: 1. When the song "Time of the Season" is played in the movie, it's 1964. "Time of the Season" by the Zombies was not released until 1968. 2. When the family of J Paul Getty II goes shopping in San Francisco in what is supposedly 1964 according to the captions leading up to the scene, there is a maroon first or second generation Mercury Cougar in the parking lot of the store. The earliest Mercury Cougars were released for model year 1967. Also (this is not a goof), one wonders how a family that is supposedly tight financially could have an eight year old Chevrolet Wagon in such straight and clean condition with no faded paint, dents or missing parts visible. 3. When Jean Paul Getty's secretary is telling Gail on the phone that her boss is unavailable, an Apple can be seen in the background. The Apple was introduced in 1977, years after 1973. 4. Christopher Plummer wears the Persol 714 folding sunglasses (the "Steve McQueen sunglasses") in the 1949 desert oil scene. This model was introduced in the late 1950s. 5. When Gail is showing Fletcher Paul's room, a poster for the movie "Lo straniero senza nome" can be seen on a wall. It's the Italian title of "High Plains Drifter" by Clint Eastwood. The movie was released in August 1973, while Paul Getty was kidnapped in July 1973.

I'm Called Little Buttercup
Written by W.S. Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan
Arranged by Terry Davies
Performed by Judi Dench & Eddie Izzard. Anachronisms: 1. At the start we hear a call to prayer (adhan) with a loudspeaker which did not yet exist in 1887. 2. Abdul at least twice refers to his home province as "Uttar Pradesh". That name was coined in 1950, in the respective period the area was known as "United Provinces". 3. In the beginning, when Abdul is called in the governor's office, a world map hanging on the wall behind the desk is visible, depicting the territories of the British Empire. The map is actually from 1915 and doesn't reflect the empire's territorial extent in 1887, when the scene takes place in the movie. 4. Victoria said she was ruler of "nearly a billion people". The English language adopted this Americanism for 1000 million only in the 1990s. 5. Victoria said she was "Morbidly Obese". That term was not coined until the 1990s. 6. When Victoria died, her oldest grandchild, The Kaiser, was wearing a German uniform. In those days he and most all royals went to great lengths to dress in honorary uniforms of the host country. He would have been in civilian clothes or a British uniform. 7. In the late 1800's the burqa was the white one piece "shuttlecock" type not the black multi layer (but that would have impaired the scenes seeing small parts of Mrs Karim). The white "shuttlecock " would have allowed different sight gags.

In the Sweet By & By
Written by S. Fillmore Bennett & J.P. Webster (as Joseph P. Webster)
Public Domain. Anachronisms: 1. The Tonka truck on the Mayers porch was a model not manufactured by Cat Trucks until 1975. 2. In the introduction, Suburbicon is described as having a shopping mall. In the 1950s, they were called "shopping centers." The use of the British term "mall" in this sense did not begin to take hold in America until the mid-60s. The term Mall is only really used in North America and is not a British term. Malls are called shopping centres or shopping precincts in Britain.

Lady Bird
Written by Jon Brion. Quote: Marion McPherson: "I want you to be the very best version of yourself that you can be." Christine 'Lady Bird' McPherson: "What if this is the best version?" Anachronisms: 1. When Lady Bird is in her brother's room, the PC shows Windows 7 background and taskbar. The scene takes place in 2002 but Windows 7 was released in 2009, seven years in the future. 2. When they introduce the character Jenna Walton, she is shown next to a Range Rover. The model shown did not come out until 2004, two years into the future. 3. When Lady Bird's parents pull up to the curb at the airport, a United sign is visible bearing the company's current globe logo, which it inherited from its merger with Continental Airlines. The scene takes place in summer 2003, but the United/Continental merger re-branding was not completed until 2012. 4. When Lady Bird's flight is taking off, the new Terminal B at Sacramento International Airport can be seen in the background. That terminal opened in 2011; the scene takes place in 2003. 5. When Lady Bird first meets Kyle he is sitting on a car with a license plate that starts with a 6. A 6 was not used as a first letter on California license plates until 2007. 6. A shot of a freeway sign in Sacramento showed an exit number. The movie takes place in 2002, which was the year California started numbering its freeway exits, but they started out on rural exits and made their way to urban areas a few years later, so no exit in a city the size of Sacramento would be numbered at this point. 7. When they were shopping at the (Sacramento) Thrift Town, the metal hangers on the racks that are shown, were not used back then, they have only been used in the last three years or so. Also the 'sale' signs with 30% and 50% off on the dressing room doors, have only been recent in the last few years. Back in 2003 there were not signs like that.

Anachronisms: Recreated TV coverage of Bobby Riggs's big matches use the Arial typeface, a cheap knockoff of Helvetica (and similar typefaces) introduced in the 1990s. 2. In two Los Angeles scenes in a glass elevator, a logo for consulting company KPMG is clearly visible on a building in the background, in the center of the frame. KPMG was created in 1987, when KMG merged with Peat Marwick. The building, now called KPMG Tower, was constructed in 1983. 3. Margaret Court travels with her husband and child in a white 1976 Ford Pinto wagon.

Ant-Man and the Wasp. 2018, Starring
Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man:
A former petty criminal who acquired a suit that allows him to shrink or grow in scale while also increasing in strength.[7] Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, in which Lang escapes from the Raft prison, director Peyton Reed said that "he's a fugitive in most of the first Ant-Man movie. He's just a bigger fugitive now."[8] Rudd was interested in Lang being a regular person rather than "innately heroic or super", and to be driven by his desire to be a responsible parent.[9]
Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne / Wasp:
The daughter of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, who is handed down a similar suit and the Wasp mantle from her mother.[7] The writers were excited to properly introduce the character as the Wasp, showing her "power set, how she fights, and what are the injustices that matter to her".[10] Lilly felt the character has "incredible satisfaction" in becoming the Wasp, "something that she has been waiting for her whole life, which is essentially an affirmation from her father".[11] Her relationship with Lang is more complicated than in the first film, and includes anger towards his actions during Civil War.[1] Madeleine McGraw portrays a young Hope van Dyne.[12]
Michael Peña as Luis: Lang's former cellmate and a member of his X-Con Security crew.[13][1] There was less opportunity for Peña to improvise compared to the first film.[14]
Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch: A "low-level criminal-type" who seeks to obtain Pym's technology for sale on the black market.[15]
Bobby Cannavale as Jim Paxton: A police officer and husband to Lang's ex-wife Maggie.[16][1]
Judy Greer as Maggie: Lang's ex-wife.[17]
Tip "T.I." Harris as Dave: A member of Lang's X-Con Security crew.[18][1]
David Dastmalchian as Kurt: A member of Lang's X-Con Security crew.[19][1]
Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr / Ghost:
A woman with molecular instability, who can phase through objects;[15][20] she is only considered a "villain" because her attempts at survival clash with the heroes' goals.[1] The character is traditionally portrayed as male in the comics, but the creative team believed that the character's gender was irrelevant to its portrayal, and felt casting a woman would be more interesting.[15] John-Kamen enjoyed this "blank-slate" aspect, allowing her to mold the character as her own.[21] Producer Stephen Broussard said that they wanted to cast a lesser-known actress to help maintain the mystery of the character, and John-Kamen "blew us away".[1] RaeLynn Bratten portrays a young Ava Starr.[12]
Abby Ryder Fortson as Cassie: The daughter of Lang and Maggie.[16]
Randall Park as Jimmy Woo: An FBI agent and Lang's parole officer.[22][23][1]
Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne:
The original Wasp who is lost in the quantum realm. She is Pym's wife and Hope's mother.[22] Pfeiffer was Reed's dream casting for the role since his time working on the first film, and he ensured that he received her input on the character. He noted that the character has spent 30 years in the quantum realm, so there is a question regarding how that has affected her.[24] The decision to have the character age over those 30 years even though time works differently in the quantum realm was made to avoid any "sci-fi weirdness" that could take away from the emotional reunions with Pym and Hope in the film.[25] Hayley Lovitt stands in for a young Janet van Dyne, reprising her role from the first film;[12] according to Reed, she had been cast in the first film, before Pfeiffer's involvement, due to her "saucer-like, Michelle Pfeiffer eyes."[24]
Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster:
An old friend of Pym who was once his assistant on Project Goliath.[20] Fishburne had approached Marvel about joining the MCU, pitching them a few ideas for whom he could portray, before Marvel offered him the role of Foster in the film.[26] Despite having already portrayed Perry White for the DC Extended Universe, Fishburne admitted that he had always fantasized about being in an MCU film, admitting that he considered himself a "Marvel guy".[27] Reed likened the rivalry between Foster and Pym to that of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates,[28] and wanted an actor who can go "toe-to-toe" with Michael Douglas.[24] Langston Fishburne, Laurence's son, stands in for a young Bill Foster.[12]
Michael Douglas as Hank Pym:
A former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, entomologist, and physicist who became the original Ant-Man after discovering the subatomic particles that make the transformation possible.[29] Pym has grown a lot closer to his daughter Hope since the first film, and according to producer Kevin Feige he has "that joy of fatherhood" in watching her become a superhero in her own right. Reed was attracted to the "morally dubious" decisions Pym sometimes makes.[1] Dax Griffin stands in for a young Hank Pym, having done so for the first film as well.[12]
Additionally Stan Lee, co-creator of the titular heroes, has a cameo in the film as a man whose car gets shrunk by accident.[30] Michael Cerveris appears as Ava's father Elihas Starr while Riann Steele plays his wife Catherine.[1] Tim Heidecker and Brian Huskey appear in cameos as a whale boat captain named Daniel Gooobler and a teacher at Cassie's school, respectively.[12][1] Sonny Burch's team of men includes Divian Ladwa as Uzman, Goran Kostić as Anitolov, and Rob Archer as Knox, while Sean Kleier portrays Stoltz, Burch's FBI inside man and Jimmy Woo's subordinate.[1] Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster of The Best Show make brief appearances as Burch's SUV drivers.
