Trivia: 1. Not only did Secretariat set the record for the fastest time at the Kentucky Derby (1:59 2/5), each of his quarter-mile splits were faster than the preceding one, which means he was still accelerating at the end of the race. His split times were: 25 1/5, 24, 23 4/5, 23 2/5, and 23. 2. Secretariat's time in the Kentucky Derby is still the record for that race (1:59 2/5). Only one other horse has won it in under two minutes (2001, Monarchos, 1:59.97, 28 years later). Sham, second to Secretariat, may have run it in under two minutes, but there is no official time for him. 3. In the Preakness Stakes, Secretariat broke last but then made a huge, last-to-first move on the first turn. After reaching the lead with 5 1⁄2 furlongs to go, he was never challenged and won by 2½ lengths, again with Sham finishing second and Our Native third. The time of the race was controversial. The infield teletimer displayed a time of 1:55. The track's electronic timer had malfunctioned because of damage caused by members of the crowd crossing the track to reach the infield. The Pimlico Race Course clocker, E.T. McLean Jr., announced a hand time of 1:54 2⁄5. However, two Daily Racing Form clockers claimed the time was 1:53 2⁄5, which would have broken the track record (1:54 by Cañonero II). Tapes of Secretariat and Cañonero II were played side by side by CBS, and Secretariat got to the finish line first on tape, though this is not a reliable method of timing a horse race. The Maryland Jockey Club, which managed the Pimlico racetrack and is responsible for maintaining Preakness records, discarded both the electronic and Daily Racing Form times and recognized 1:542⁄5 as the official time. However, the Daily Racing Form, for the first time in history, printed its own clocking of 1:53 2⁄5 next to the official time in the chart of the race. Subsequently, Tank's Prospect (1985) and Louis Quatorze (1996) have run 1:53 2⁄5, equaling the time attributed to Secretariat by the Daily Racing Form. Farma Way won the 1991 Pimlico Special in 1:52 2⁄5, setting the current track record. 4. In the Belmont Stakes, both Secretariat's winning margin (31 lengths) and his winning time (2:24) still stand after 37 years. 5. Penny Chenery, the real owner of Secretariat, can be seen in the movie as he wins the Belmont and the Triple Crown.

Williams wanted to stay close to her Brooklyn home to take care of her daughter, Matilda, so the director chose Scranton due to its proximity to Brooklyn. 2. The film was originally set to shoot in spring of 2008, but was delayed due to Heath Ledger's death. The producers and director delayed the film out of respect for Michelle Williams, Ledger's ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter Matilda, rather than going ahead and shooting the film with another actress in Michelle's role. 3. Cindy's car has the Pennsylvania license plate CHT 8635. This is the same license plate on the car driven by Jim Halpert on "The Office". 4. The tattoo on Dean's upper left arm is from the book 'The Giving Tree' by Shel Silverstein. It is a book about giving and sacrificing everything for another. 5. The Brooklyn band Grizzly Bear composed the score for the film. 6. One of the film's feature songs, "You and Me", which is presented as the couple's personal song, was originally recorded as a demo by a group called Penny & The Quarters for the obscure Prix Label of Columbus, Ohio in the early 1970s. It was re-released on a compilation album by the Numero Group in 2007 without the members of the group being identified. 7. Filmed in Puerto Rico. Trivia: 1. Art Ramalho's gym is the actual Lowell West End Gym and not a set. This is in fact where Micky Ward trained and is still a functioning boxing gym to this day. 2. Richard Farrell, who plays one of the HBO camera men in the film, is essentially playing himself. Farrell is a filmmaker and news camera man who directed the award-winning HBO documentary High on Crack Street: Lost Lives in Lowell about Dick Eklund. 3. Micky Ward's real life trainer Mickey O'Keefe was asked to appear as himself in the film, but turned the role down since he had never acted before. Mark Wahlberg told him he would be able to since he was a cop and therefore he has to act and think fast on his feet. This was convincing enough and he took the role. Encore Avenue, September 22, 2011. An Australian drama film directed by Gregor Jordan, portraying the life of Ned Kelly, a legendary bushranger in northeast Victoria. Ned Kelly, his brother Dan, and two other men, Steve Hart and Joe Byrne, formed a gang of Irish Australians in response to Irish and English tensions that arose in 19th century Australia. The film is mainly based on Robert Drewe's book Our Sunshine. Heath Ledger plays the title role as Edward 'Ned' Kelly. The 2003 version is a remake of the 1906 The Story of the Kelly Gang which is recognized in the film industry as the first feature film ever made. Soundtrack: "Shelter for My Soul" - Music and Lyrics by Bernard Fanning, Performed by Bernard Fanning, Courtesy of Universal Music Australia; "Moreton Bay" (Traditional) - Arranged by Bernard Fanning and Claire Jordan, Performed by Bernard Fanning, Courtesy of Universal Music Australia; "Saving a Life" (Traditional/Badelt) - Performed by Susie Webb, Katy Stephan and Alexandra Hill; "Tatter Jack Walsh" (Traditional), Arranged and Performed by The Idle Diddlies; "Morning Star - Star of Munster Laingston's Reel" (Traditional) - Arranged and Performed by The Idle Diddlies; "Kesh Jig" (Traditional) - Arranged and Performed by Blackberry Jam, Soundtrack on Decca/UMG Soundtracks. Trivia: 1. The Sydney Morning Herald suggested that Heath Ledger was made for the role because when he tried on Ned Kelly's original iron armour, it fit perfectly. Heath Ledger was quoted saying, "It was quite eerie actually ... we're the same height and the same body weight. He was skinny 'cause he was starving, I'm skinny 'cause I don't go to the gym." 2. Ned's original armor can be seen on display at the State Library of Victoria, Australia. Joe's armor is in the hands of a private collector. The National Trust (Old Melbourne Gaol) owns the armor believed to be Dan's. Steve's is with the Police Historical Unit (Police Museum in Melbourne). 3. The world premier of the film, which was in Australia, took place only 2 blocks away from where Ned Kelly was hanged. 4. The now blood-stained green sash Ned was given after saving a boy from drowning is on display at a museum in Benalla. 5. The Irish folk singer appearing in the film is Bernard Fanning.

John Brennan: So, the life in times of Don Quixote, what is it about?
Female College Student: That someone's belief in virtue is more important than virtue itself?
John Brennan: Yes... that's in the there. But what is it about? Could it be how rational thought destroys your soul? Could it be about the triumph of irrationality and the power that is in that? You know, we spend a lot of time trying to organize the world. We build clocks and calendars and we try to predict the weather. But what part of our life is truly under our control? What if we choose to exist purely in a reality of our own making? Does that render us insane? And if it does, isn't that better than a life of despair?

Lieutenant Nabulsi: What kind of criminal drives a Prius?
Sergeant Harris: A socially responsible one?

Trivia: 1. Lyle (Seth Green) claims he was the creator of Napster, and that Shawn Fanning stole it from him. The film shows a flashback of Lyle sleeping, and a person taking a disk out of the PC that has Napster on it. The person is really Shawn Fanning, the creator of Napster. When he steals the disk, the bottom of a Metallica poster can be seen on the wall. Metallica were vocal critics of the original Napster. 2. For the first time in cinematic history, the production shut down Hollywood Boulevard and Highland for seven days for the shooting, according to director F. Gary Gray in an interview featured in the DVD. 3. The Venice authority allowed the crew to go over the speed limit for the boat chase sequence. 4. Charlize Theron got two speeding tickets, both for going more than 40mph over the speed limit, during the filming of this movie. She said that after filming driving so fast, she just couldn't get her speed down to drive home. 5. Lyle's girlfriend at the end of the movie is played by Kelly Brook, Jason Statham's actual girlfriend at the time of the movie. Quote: [last lines]
Charlie Croker: [voice over narration] I took John Bridger's advice. I found somebody I want to spend the rest of my life with and I'm going to hold onto her forever.

Trivia: Was a 1975 play, first staged in California. It has also been performed Off-Broadway and on Broadway, and adapted as a book, a television movie to a planned theatrical film. In the original play, the characters did not have names, and were known instead by the colors of their costumes: "Lady in Red", "Lady in Purple", "Lady in Blue", "Lady in Yellow", etc. Although the movie's characters do have names, both the movie and its advertising continue the color-theming of the characters.

The New York Times reports that Robert Durst likes the film. 3. Filming took place in Connecticut and New York. Anachronism: The part of the movie based in Texas was in 2000. The style of Texas license plate on David Marks's SUV was not issued until about 2008. Plot Summary: A love story and murder mystery based on the most notorious unsolved murder case in New York history. The original screenplay uses newly discovered facts, court records and speculation as the foundation for a story of family, obsession, love and loss. "The story is inspired by events that took place between January 1971 and November 2003 in Texas, Los Angeles and New York."

Since this film takes place in 2002-2003, the older logo would have appeared on the cans. 2. Joe Wilson is portrayed as removing his shoes before passing through airport security. This was not standard practice until 2003, however expensive shoes with a metal reinforcing in the sole have always set off metal detectors and therefore he did so voluntarily. 3. Before the dinner party, a shot of the Wilson/Plame house is shown with a Honda Accord parked in the driveway. The Accord model seen wasn't introduced until 2007, despite the scene taking place in 2003. 4. Anachronisms: The movie takes place in 2002-2003, and yet you hear some of the actors talking about blogs, which in that time, were very new services that were barely being used back then. Storyline: Valerie Plame's status as a CIA agent is revealed by White House officials allegedly out to discredit her husband after he wrote a 2003 New York Times op-ed piece saying that the Bush administration had manipulated intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq.

The movie created an issue in Rome due to a "creative license" made by the filmmakers. The city of Rome hosts two football teams (AS Roma and SS Lazio), fierce rivals. In Elizabeth Gilbert's original novel (on which the film is based) it is made clear that Mr Spaghetti was a SS Lazio fan. However, due to the limited appeal and knowledge of the "SS Lazio" team outside Italy, the filmmakers decided to made him an "AS Rome" fan. This decision enraged the local SS Lazio fans (who of course became immediately objects of mockery by the AS Roma fans). 2. Story inspired by actual events. 3. Filming locations include New York City (United States), Rome and Naples (Italy), Delhi and Pataudi (India), Ubud and Padang-Padang Beach at Bali (Indonesia).

Trivia: 1. Siblings Jesse Eisenberg and Hallie Kate Eisenberg also play siblings in this film. 2. In 1999, federal agents arrested Ecstasy smuggler Sean Erez as well as six others connected to his smuggling ring, including Erez's 21-year-old girlfriend Diana Reicherter (also known as Rachel) and 18-year-olds Simcha Roth and Shimon Levita. The last two had originally been members of New York's ultra-Orthodox (Hasidic) community and were accused of recruiting other Hasids to help with the drug smuggling. These events formed the basis of this movie's plot. Holy Rollers is inspired by actual events in the late nineties when Hasidic Jews were recruited as mules to smuggle ecstasy from Europe into the United States. 3. The film's title is a reference to the protagonist's religious character and to the slang term "rolling" describing a person high on Ecstasy. Incongruously, the film's title is also a phrase most commonly applied to Pentecostal Christians, often derisively in reference to their ecstatic behavior, but is not commonly used of Jews (like the film's protagonist) or other non-Christians. Anachronisms: 1. Roughly 5 minutes into the film, in the Brooklyn cut scene after eating family dinner and before the scene at the fabric shop a late model Honda Civic sedan (Produced starting in 2006) can be clearly seen, even though the movie is set in 1998. 2. The movie is set in 1989 and you can clearly see cars that have license plates that were not used at that time.

Trivia: When Casanova is running away from the Inquisition in the opening scene he jumps through a window and into the University of Venice. The University of Venice never existed and the building he jumps into is in fact the "Teatro Olimpico", one of the first Renaissance theaters 140 kilometers away from Venice. Quotes: Casanova: Casanova, the philosopher? Who devotes his life to the perfection of experience? Yes, I know him.
Francesca Bruni: No, Casanova the libertine, who devotes his life to seducing women.
Casanova: Well, we're obviously talking about the same person.

Casanova: She has a secret lover? Who?
Giovanni Bruni: I don't know, it's a secret.

Anachronisms: 1. The flight with the balloon is an (minor) anachronism. The first manned hot air balloon (manufactured by the Montgolfier brothers) made it's first flight in 1783, when Casanova was 58 years old. 2. In one long shot of Venice at sunset, the viewer can clearly see contrails in the sky caused by passing jet planes. 3. Water can be seen flowing from a bilge pump on Paprizzio's sailboat when sailing into the port of Venice. Storyline: Casanova is in love with Francesca, who thinks he is a friend of himself even though he is engaged to Victoria, who is the love of Giovanni, Francessca's brother. Francessca is betrothed to Paprizzio who thinks Casanova is the feminist writer Guardi, who is really Francessca's nomme de plume. Amidst all these secret identities and misunderstandings, the Church sends Pucci to bring Casanova and Guardi to trial for heresy.

Walworth; "All People that on Earth Do Dwell" (uncredited) - Music by Loys Bourgeois, Lyrics by William Kethe. This Film is dedicated to Sister Margaret McEntee, S.C., formerly known as Sister James. Anachronisms: 1. The film is set in 1964. The "Ubi Caritas" sung by the choir during one of Fr. Flynn's sermons was written in 1979 by Jacques Berthier for the Taize community. 2. Set in 1964, but a Wurlitzer electric piano model 200 (introduced in 1968) or 200A (introduced in 1975) appears in the dance class and the Christmas pageant rehearsal. 3. When Fr. Flynn and Sister James are on the bench outside the school, Fr. Flynn opens his breviary. It's an English "Liturgy of the Hours," which was introduced in 1970, not the Latin "Breviarium Romanum" that was in use in 1964. 4. As Sister Aloysius walks Mrs. Miller to work, they pass an outdoor basketball court with a 3-point line. The ABA introduced the 3-point line in 1971. 5. The Mass vestments are contemporary, not the type in use in 1964. 6. Father Flynn turns during the basketball scene in the gym, showing the backs of his Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars. They have a white heel tag with black writing, which makes them contemporary shoes. In 1964, they would've had a black heel tag with white writing.

Maria Full of Grace (Spanish title: María llena eres de gracia, lit. "Maria, you are full of grace") is a 2004 joint Colombian-American film. Although the movie depicts rural life in Colombia, it was actually filmed in Ecuador. Catalina Sandino Moreno prepared for her role by working in a Colombian flower plantation for two weeks cutting roses. She did not meet with real drug mules because she wanted to appear to be as clueless to the process and the consequences as Maria was. This is Catalina Sandino Moreno film debut. An anonymous admirer who had seen her in a play told her mother about the open casting call. Quote: María Álvarez: What is America like?
Lucy Díaz: Over there... it's too perfect. Everything's straight.

Trivia: 1. The number Nine refers to Fellini's 8 1/2, which was his ninth movie (he directed 7 on his own and co-directed one other). Also, the number 9 refers to the age young Guido is in the flashback. 2. This is one of four movies released in 2009 which used the number nine in its title. The other three are 9, $9.99 and District 9. 3. The title song "Nine" was cut from the movie. 4. Pre-production had to be delayed due to the writer's strike in 2007/08. Storyline: Guido Contini is a gifted Italian filmmaker who, at the age of fifty, has developed writer's block and urges all the women in his life, alive and dead, to help him with it - his mind wanders to his unfinished set, where dozens of dancers and the film’s leading ladies appear – first Claudia Jenssen, his leading lady; then his wife Luisa; his mistress Carla; his costume designer and confidant Lilli; his beloved Mamma; Stephanie, an American fashion journalist from Vogue; and finally Saraghina, a prostitute from his childhood; ("Overture Delle Donne"). Trivia: 1. Playwright Tennessee Williams so disliked this adaptation that he told people in the queue "This movie will set the industry back 50 years. Go home!" 2. The references to homosexuality in the original play were removed from the screenplay to comply with the Hollywood Production Code. 3. Due to a musicians union strike, the movie lacks a traditional musical score composed especially for the picture. Instead, a "canned" score, comprised of pre-recorded pieces from the MGM music library, is used. Most of this music, including the evocative main theme, was originally composed by André Previn for MGM's Tension. 4. This film was originally to be filmed in black and white, as was the standard practice with "artistic" films in the 1950s. (Virtually all film adaptations of the plays of Tennessee Williams had been in B&W up to that time.) However, once Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor were cast in the leads, director Richard Brooks insisted on shooting in color, in deference to the public's well known enthusiasm for Taylor's violet and Newman's strikingly blue eyes. 5. Tennessee Williams wrote the role of Big Daddy with Burl Ives in mind. Prior to the original stage production, Ives was known primarily as a folk singer, and many within the theatre community question Williams' decision. Ives won rave reviews in the role on both stage and screen, and went on to a long and prestigious acting career. 6. Big Daddy Burl Ives was only one year older than Jack Carson, who plays his eldest son, and 16 years older than Paul Newman, who played his youngest. Quote: Brick Pollitt: What is the victory of a cat on a hot tin roof?
Margaret "Maggie" Pollitt: Just staying on it I guess, long as she can.
