Anachronism:

Agent Smith called the Police Officer in charge "Lieutenant". There are no Lieutenants in the British Police Force. Also, she pronounced it "Lootenant" but she was English, and in London, so she would have pronounced it "Leftenant".

Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee. 2007, Starring

Bing Video, April 20, 2024, with Sepehr Shamekhi. Soundtrack: "

Anachronisms:

1. The newspaper story being viewed after the Custer battle (Virginia newspaper?) has a dateline of July 3, 1876. The first published account of the event was put out by the Bozeman newspaper (the Times?) on July 4, 1876. Late on July 4, (7:00 p.m.) the Helena newspaper produced a special, extra edition, and at this time, the AP correspondent relayed the material to Salt Lake City, where it was then distributed around the country. The "Virginia" newspaper of the July 3 date could not have contained the story. (Information from searches of archives on the Internet.)

2. Shaun Johnston as Col. Nelson Miles is shown at the signing of the Fort Laramie Treaty of April 29, 1868 wearing a Civil War Medal and an Indian Wars Medal. The first Civil War Campaign Medal was issued on May 26, 1909. The blue and gray ribbon shown in the film was not in use until August 12, 1913. The first Indian Wars Medal was issued July 15, 1908. The ribbon shown in the film with two dark bands was not in use until 1917.

3. When Charles Eastman is sitting on the floor, you can clearly see that the soles of his boots are made of man made material with a modern tread design, not the smooth leather soles you would expect to see in the nineteenth century.

Spoof: "The Simpsons" Dancin' Homer (TV Episode 1990)

Anachronisms:

In the movie, Lou Gehrig hits two home runs and Babe Ruth hits one for "Little Billy" in the hospital. According to baseball-reference.com, in the 1928 World Series Gehrig did not hit multiple home runs in any game that Ruth did homer. In game 3 against the St. Louis Cardinals, Gehrig hit 2 home runs and Ruth none. In Game 4 Gehrig hit one and Ruth three. Whilst the movie is not specific about the game being in the 1926 or 1928 World Series where both the Yanees and Cardinals met, there are two ways to tell it is 1928. One, Gehrig did not homer in the '26 series. Two, the Yankees are celebrating a series victory later in the movie. The Yankees won the '28 series and lost in '26.

When Lou and Eleanor are introduced at the Chicago restaurant, a house band is heard playing "I'll See You in My Dreams" in the background. The song was not published until 1924, a year after Gehrig's rookie debut (when the scene takes place).

When Walter Brennan gets stopped by two motorcycle cops whilst driving Lou and his wife to the ballpark just after their 1933 marriage, a 1941 Buick business coupe (as a police car) is shown. A subsequent shot on a thoroughfare shows various 1940-41 cars.

When Lou hits the first of his two HRs during the 1928 World Series, the shadows of two light towers can be seen on the field. Lights were not installed at Major League ballparks until the late 1930s.

The Yankees played 2 World Series against the Cardinals while Lou Gehrig was on the team, in 1926 and 1928. Whichever World Series the movie was depicting (assuming 1928, the one where Gehrig hit 2 home runs in one game), Gehrig's #4 is clearly visible in those scenes, but the Yankees' uniforms did not have numbers on their backs until 1929.

Prey. 2022, Starring

  • Amber Midthunder as Naru, a young Comanche warrior who protects her tribe against a Predator[7]
  • Dakota Beavers as Taabe, Naru's brother and a skilled hunter. In August 2022, Bennett Taylor confirmed that the script for Prey revealed Billy Sole, a Native American tracker and scout played by Sonny Landham in the original Predator (1987), to be a reincarnation of Taabe, reframing his "last stand" with that film's Predator as being due to subconscious memories of a past life.[8][9]
  • Dane DiLiegro as the Feral Predator,[7] shown to wield primitive versions of the advanced weaponry used by Predators in previous future-set films, which Naru calls a Mupitsi after a monster in Comanche folklore.[4]
  • Michelle Thrush as Aruka, Naru and Taabe's mother[7]
  • Julian Black Antelope as Chief Kehetu[7]
  • Coco as Sarii, Naru's dog companion[10]
  • Stormee Kipp as Wasape, a Comanche hunter who looks down on Naru[7]
  • Mike Paterson as Big Beard[11]
  • Bennett Taylor as Raphael Adolini, an Italian translator hired by the French. This character was first alluded to in Predator 2 (1990) and later depicted in the comic book Predator: 1718 (1996).[12]
  • Nelson Leis as Waxed Mustache[11]
  • Troy Mundle as Spyglass

and Coco and Tofu as Sarii (Naru's dog). Crave, April 29, 2024. Soundtrack: "

Trivia:

The engraving on the gun reveals it is the same weapon that a Predator gives to Mike Harrigan in 1997 at the end of Predator 2 (1990).

In Predator 2 (1990), the Predator gives Danny Glover's character a flintlock pistol with "Raphael Adolini, 1715" engraved on the handle. "Prey" is set in 1719, and Raphael Adolini is amongst the French hunters, and he gives Naru this pistol and tells her how to use it before he dies.

Sarii, Naru's dog and constant companion, had no previous movie experience, and was adopted specifically for the movie only 2 months before shooting. Sarii's real name is Coco, and she is a Carolina Dog, a rare breed of wild dog that followed the first humans to cross the Bering Strait 4,500 years ago. Trachtenberg wanted to cast a dog that would be period-accurate, and Carolina Dogs are direct descendants of those dogs. Amber Midthunder (Naru) called Coco "a little bit of a hot mess - but in a sweet way" and said that "obviously it all ended up fine, because she was great, and everybody loves her."

1719 was the first year when French trapping expeditions entered Comanche territory (in Oklahoma).

At 1:17:35 of the movie there is a shot of Elbow Falls, located 22km SW of Bragg Creek, Alberta

Anachronisms:

The film is set in 1719 and shows large scale bison slaughter by the fur traders, which makes that scene approximately 150 years too early.

The Métis of Canada had organized hunts for trade as early as the 1770s, however it wasn't until the mid-19th century, or more accurately, the 1870s that large scale bison eradication occurred by settlers and the military.
