Trivia: 1. It is the sequel to 2008's Iron Man, the second film in a planned trilogy. It takes place six months after Iron Man, and directly before Thor. The film's events take place after The Incredible Hulk but before the final scene with Tony Stark and General Ross. 2. Samuel L. Jackson was promised that Nick Fury would be given more screen time by director Jon Favreau. Jackson almost didn't return to play Fury, due to problems with contract negotiations, but secured a landmark nine-picture deal to play Nick Fury not only in this film but in many other Marvel Studio productions. 3. Jon Favreau's first sequel as a director and as an actor. 4. Don Cheadle replaced Terrence Howard as Rhodey, due to a falling out between Howard and Marvel Studios. The two actors worked with each other in Crash. 4. Scenes in the film explicitly foreshadow The Avengers: (a) When Tony goes through his father's case an old Captain America comic book can be seen inside; later he uses Captain America's shield (a prototype) to build a reactor, (b) a news report of The Incredible Hulk's campus battle is seen near the end of the film,(c) Stark and Fury discuss Stark's membership throughout the film and (d) Agent Coulson finds Thor's hammer in a crater in the post-credits scene.

Trivia: 1. When Matt Damon's character climbs over the tree the real Benjamin Mee, Milo (Dylan in the movie) Mee and Ella (Rosie in the movie) Mee can be seen as the first family in line. 2. There are a number of differences between the the story shown in the movie and the events that actually transpired. Most obviously, the real Benjamin Mee is British; the story was adapted for an American audience, and the changes were met with Mee's approval. 3. The actual zoo Mee bought is Dartmoor Zoological Park, located in Devon, England, while the fictional zoo in the film is called Rosemoor Wildlife Park, and is located in California. 4. In real life, Benjamin's wife, Katherine, died after they had already bought the zoo and moved in. In the film, Benjamin bought the zoo only after her death. 5. Also, instead of an escaping bear, as portrayed by the film, it was a jaguar called Sovereign that had escaped.[14] Additionally, Benjamin's children were younger (aged four and six respectively) than the children in the film. 6. In the film, the zoo was much easier to buy. In real life, it took almost two years to buy. Benjamin's first offer to buy the zoo was rejected due to his lack of experience in the zoological world. 7. Finally, the real zoo opened on Saturday July 7, 2007. However, the movie moved that event up to the same date in 2010, maybe to make the story more current. This latter date fell on a Wednesday, but was identified in the script as the original Saturday. 8. Director Cameron Crowe traveled to the set of the film True Grit to persuade actor Matt Damon to take on the role of the lead character in the film. Quote: Rosie Mee: [as Walter Ferris is finalizing his inspection] "You know, everybody here thinks you're a dick. I don't know what that means, but I don't think that." Anachronisms: 1. The zoo opens on July 7, 2010 but when we see Benjamin Mee holding papers in the car when they go house hunting, in all the papers of the house listings, the date is Jan 3,2011. 2. Benjamin makes a joking reference to the 'Chilean Miners' while Rosie is being tucked into her bed that's full of stuffed animals almost covering her entire body.

(also with Tom Hanks). It is the same last name as the boy who last 'decently' kissed Faye (Liv Tyler). This is one of the last lines of the movie. 3. This movie is based on the life of a friend of Tom Hanks called Jim Chandler. 4. According to Universal Pictures, almost 75% of the movie's audience on the picture's opening weekend was older than age 50. 5. Chet Hanks, the son of Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, appears in a bit part as a Pizza Delivery Boy. Rita also has a supporting role. Tom Hanks performed a number of roles on this movie. Trivia: 1. It is the fourth installment in the Mission: Impossible series. It is the first Mission: Impossible movie to be partially filmed using IMAX cameras. It became a critical and commercial success, the best-reviewed entry of the series. It also grossed over $693 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Mission: Impossible film, the 5th highest-grossing film of 2011[8] and the highest-grossing film starring Tom Cruise. 2. Jeremy Renner's character Brandt, was specifically created as the eventual replacement for Tom Cruise's character Ethan Hunt for when Cruise decides to step away from the franchise. 3. Tom Cruise performed the sequence where Ethan Hunt scales the outside of the Burj Khalifa tower himself without the use of a stunt double. The Burj Khalifa tower is the tallest building in the world. 4. At the end of the film, Ethan receives instructions for his next mission, which involves a terrorist organization called "the Syndicate." This is a nod to the original 1966 Mission: Impossible television series, where the Syndicate was the Mafia-like crime empire used as an enemy for most of IMF's domestic-based missions.
