Anachronisms:
The motorcycle sidecar combination that crashes into a ditch is revealed to be a Triumph motorcycle, too. These British motorcycle models were not in existence during World War II, and their appearance is anachronistic.
Hilts's baseball glove is a present-day (i.e., late 1950s/early 1960s) model, far too modern in design for a wartime glove.
The transport truck carrying the 50 prisoners who are to be shot has modern brake lights, circa early 1960's. Military trucks, especially during the war, either had no brake lights or taillights or only one very small red light at the rear.
The motorcycle that Hilts uses in his escape attempt was a 1960s British Triumph 650.
As the rowboat escapees, the "Tunnel Kings," near the end of their journey in a harbor, what appear to be container cranes can be seen in the background as they approach the ship and clamber onto the gangway, on both sides of the large vessel. Containerization did not begin until the mid 1950's and containership cranes were unknown in the 1940's.
Hilts' watch is a Rolex Submariner not available in the 1940s.
Traffic signs are clearly post-war.
At the start of the movie, they all presumably have parachuted out of their planes, have been kept in custody before getting to the camp, but they have miraculously kept their officers caps on, and none of their clothes have a soil or sweat-stain on them, apart from Attenborough's collar. The sort of trousers that McQueen wears get grubby in a day. And as for Garner's pristine white turtle-neck.....
During the escape, there is a brief shot of a bridge spanning a river. This bridge is very obviously a post-war construction.
The railway logo is incorrect.

Anachronisms:
The famous speech Churchill wants to revise (and later delivers in the House of Commons) in the beginning of the film ("To see Mr Gandhi, a seductive Mid-Temple Lawyer ... posing as a half-naked fakir in a manner quite well known in the East, striding up the steps of the Vice-Regal palace to parley on equal terms with the representative of the King Emperor") was actually delivered in 1930, whereas the film starts some years later.
During the 'Battle of Blenheim' scene, the Union Jack is shown as one of the colors of the English army. The Union Jack was only used as a battle-standard after the Act Of Union in 1707, three years after the Battle of Blenheim.

There are a number of firearms mistakes throughout the film, mainly dealing with muzzle loading cap and ball revolvers being loaded with cartridges. The first part is supposed to take place in 1859, revolvers back then included the Colt Dragoon, Navy and Walker (which are used in the film), all of which are loaded by pouring gunpowder in the cylinders, crimping a ball (bullet) on top of a patch into the cylinder and putting a firing cap (primer) on the cylinder's nipple. The first cartridge firing revolvers weren't seen until around 1860 but were rare and expensive, they didn't become common enough for the average person to afford until the 1870's. The first affordable, mass produced cartridge firing revolver was the Colt Single Action Army released in 1873. Cartridge conversion kits for the Colt Walker, Army and Navy's seen here didn't come out until 1871.
In the opening scene, the father surveying the land is holding a yellow pencil which was not invented until 30 years later in 1889.
The revolver carried by Hayes Ellison appears to be a Colt Army Model 1860 with a Richard's cartridge conversion kit, which didn't exist at the time. The scenes with Ellison take place in 1863, at that time the Colt Army was strictly a cap and ball pistol, it didn't fire cartridges, which Ellison is shown loading. The Richard's conversion kit allowed the 1860 Army to be converted to fire cartridges, but it didn't come out until 1871.

Bullitt. 1968, Starring
- Steve McQueen as San Francisco Police Lieutenant Frank Bullitt. McQueen based his performance on San Francisco Inspector Dave Toschi, with whom he worked prior to filming.[19][20] McQueen even copied Toschi's unique "fast-draw" shoulder holster. Toschi later became famous, along with Inspector Bill Armstrong, as the lead San Francisco investigators of the Zodiac Killer murders that began shortly after the release of Bullitt.[20]
- Robert Vaughn as Walter Chalmers. Vaughn initially turned down the role, feeling the plot was too "thin."[21] Decades later, when Vaughn considered entering politics, he discovered that people couldn't take him seriously, or found him untrustworthy, as they remembered his performance in this film.[22]
- Jacqueline Bisset as Cathy, Bullitt's girlfriend. Katharine Ross was offered the role, but she turned it down, as she felt the part was just too small.[23]
- Don Gordon as Inspector "Del" Delgetti, Bullitt's partner. This film was the first of three times McQueen worked on-screen with his real-life friend Gordon, the other two were in Papillon (1973) and The Towering Inferno (1974).
