There is a message at the end of the credits warning viewers to not be distracted when driving. This is a reference to Dr Strange's catastrophic car accident, but it is also a running gag in the film about essential warnings appearing after (not before) instructions. Quote: Kaecilius: "You'll die defending this world, Mister..." Dr. Stephen Strange: "Doctor!" Kaecilius: "Mister Doctor?" Dr. Stephen Strange: "It's Strange!" Kaecilius: "Maybe, who am I to judge?"

Spoofed in The Ridiculous 6 (2015) - Western spoof. Anachronisms
The term "pen pal" is used early in the film. Merriam Webster says the first known use of the term was in 1938.

Given that European settlement of New Zealand was (approximately) only 60 or so years prior to the estimated 1880 setting of the film, it is highly unlikely that Zoe Bell's character would have spoken with the contemporary NZ accent that she employs.

The word "paranoid" is used in the film. Merriam Webster says the first known use of the term was in 1904.

The plot takes place a few years after the civil war. The characters mention both Buffalo Bill and Lilly Langtry. It hardly makes sense that both were known to the parties, since they were very young, especially L.L who was born just 10 years prior to the civil war.

The song Daisy Domergue sings when she plays the guitar is an Australian folk song called "Jim Jones at Botany Bay". Though the year in which the film is set isn't certain, it is likely no later than 1880. The song was not published until 1907.

The dollar amounts of the bounties are frequently mentioned ($8,000, $10,000). Assuming the time-frame of the story is probably in the 1870s or 1880s, those amounts would be more than $200,000 today.

Joe Gage binds his neck wound with a handkerchief that is in the famous Burberry beige/ black/red check - this pattern was devised as a coat lining by the British company around the 1920s/1930s and only became widely popular from the 1950s. Yet the Hateful Eight is set in the 1860s/1870s.

The writer of the Lincoln letter uses the word "hopefully" in the modern (and some say incorrect) sense: "Hopefully, sometime we can meet..." or words to that effect. A writer in the late 1800s -- whether Lincoln or Major Warren -- probably wouldn't have used it that way.

The Piano in Minnie's Haberdashery is produced by Story & Clark, a company established in 1869. The movie is set in the years following the American Civil War, which ended in 1865. Judging by the "honky tonk" tone and bashed appearance, the piano would appear to be at least a generation old, if not more - simply not possible as the company did not exist before the civil war.

During the the coach ride John Ruth uses the phrase "window of opportunity", which wasn't coined until the US/Soviet arms race ~1979-1980.
