Trivia: 1. Many of the Zombie extras are fans of the TV series Spaced, which also starred Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and was also directed by Edgar Wright. They were recruited through the Spaced Out fan web site to be in the film. 2. When Shaun, Liz, David, Dianne, Barbara and Ed run into the alternative 'gang' as they make their way to the Winchester, there are quite a few comedy partnerships brought together again. Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes - Tim and Daisy from Spaced. Lucy Davis and Martin Freeman - Dawn and Tim from The Office. Dylan Moran and Tamsin Greig - Bernard and Fran from Black Books. Julia Deakin and Nick Frost are, of course, in Spaced too, as Marsha and Mike respectively. 3. All of the newsreaders and television presenters are real people portraying themselves. 4. Chris Martin of Coldplay, who appears as himself on a news report near the end of the film promoting ZombAid, also plays a zombie. After Shaun and Liz escape from the basement of the Winchester, he can be seen playing the zombie walking past the phone booth from right to left.

Anachronism: Berlin Main Station opened in June 2006, the building took more than 10 years. Before this. Trains only passed through the station, but did not stop there. So, Justin Quayle cannot have arrived at Berlin Main Station in 2004, when the movie is set, as it is implied. Also, long distance trains only stop underground. The tracks above ground are reserved only for regional trains.

Trivia: 1. Cloris Leachman's last scene in the movie was printed on the first take without any previous rehearsals. She wanted to rehearse the scene but director Peter Bogdanovich thought it would ruin the scene if it was rehearsed. Ultimately his sense of direction paid off, as Leachman won the Academy Award for her performance. 2. Cybill Shepherd's and Randy Quaid's film debut. 3. Location manager Frank Marshall doubled in the role of the football team's quarterback. 4. It was one of the first films to have used a contemporary popular music soundtrack, and for aesthetic and technical reasons it was shot in black and white, which was unusual for its time. Anachronisms: 1. The movie is set in the early 1950s, but at 50 minutes and 19 seconds in, when Sonny is driving through town at night, a car from the mid-1960s or later is briefly visible. 2. The jukebox shown several times in shots of the diner interior is a Wurlitzer 2000 model, this was not produced until 1956. 3. As Sonny drives past all of Sam the Lion's businesses (from which he has been banned), there is a brief shot out the truck's window which takes in a 1960s-vintage car parked at the curb. 4. Several scenes show television programming, however TV was not introduced to the Wichita Falls area (and Anarene) until 1953. The movie takes place in 1951-1952. 5. When Sonny and Jacy are driving to Oklahoma to get married, the highway markings are incorrect. In 1952, Texas highways were marked with a solid line down the middle of the highway with no-passing zones marked with dashed lines. 6. When the pickup pulls up in front of the house and one of the cast gets out to go into the house you can see houses in the background that are clearly late 1960s style architecturally. 7. When the boys are running in the high school gym, the basketball court has a 6 foot lane. In 1951 the lane would have been only 3 feet wide.

Trivia: 1. All of the names on Danny McGrath's People To Kill List (except for Billy Madison) are those of the crew, directors, or producers of the movie. 2. Charles Bronson turned down the role of Billy Madison's father. Anachronism: When Eric is confronting Principal Anderson and says this is an issue from 1983, as he flips through the pages throughout the scene, you can clearly see a picture of Bret 'The Hitman' Heart in the bottom right hand corner in the magazine. Bret Hart came into mainstream wrestling much later than 1983.

Dixie Dynamite. Theatre in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, summer 1975. I wanted to attend the Ian Thomas concert at the Civic Centre that evening, but was delayed by a late departure from a Millar Bible College alumni gathering near Moose Jaw. The Stampeders were the main act that night. When I arrived at the venue, I could hear Thomas belting out "Painted Ladies", and figured that I had missed half of his concert already. Since I had already seen the Stampeders previously, I went to the movies instead. Likely a bad decision, as decades later, while enjoying Ian Thomas perform on SCTV reruns, I realize now that that was likely my only chance to have seen him perform live.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Starring Jack Nicholson. Theatre in Saskatoon with Lenora Doerksen, my best friend's girlfriend (but who did not used to be mine). 1977. Lenora was a friend and old Bible College classmate who was required to see the movie for her training, but her "boyfriend", John Hadfield, hated going to movies, so I went with her instead.

The Godfather. Starring Al Pacino. Television with my mother, Mrs. Dorothy Luther and my girlfriend, Connie (Luther) Fehr, 1977, while I am preparing a sermon for church. The movie experience is memorable, in that, my mother is watching all the violence, murder and mayhem, and then is most horrified when the Godfather lies to his wife about killing her brother. My mother kept exclaiming: "He lied to her!", while I chuckled coldheartedly, and continued on with my sermon preparation.
