Trivia: It is an American science fiction war film directed by Francis Lawrence with a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong. It is the first of two films based on Suzanne Collins' novel Mockingjay, the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy, and the third installment in The Hunger Games film series, produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik and distributed by Lionsgate. Principal photography for both parts of the film began on September 23, 2013, in Atlanta, before moving to Paris for two weeks of filming and officially concluding on June 20, 2014, in Berlin. Mockingjay – Part 1 received mostly mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, who commended its acting and political subtext, but received criticism for its lack of action and for splitting the novel into two separate adaptations. It is the lowest-rated Hunger Games film of the franchise according to review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. The film had garnered a nomination for Best Science Fiction Film at the 41st Saturn Awards. For her performance, Lawrence received a nomination for Best Actress in an Action Movie at the 20th Critics' Choice Awards and a Saturn Award nomination. The song "Yellow Flicker Beat" also received a nomination for Best Original Song at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards and Critics' Choice Awards. Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays Plutarch Heavensbee in the film, died on February 2, 2014 in New York. Lionsgate released a statement stating that Hoffman had completed filming most of his scenes prior to his death. Beatrice, Laura Waddell as Pamela Upton, Steve 'Shack' Shackleton as stunt double: Jim Beaver, Jennifer Mylrea as stunt double Jessica Chastain and Zandara Kennedy as stunt double: Mia Wasikowska. ScotiaBank Chinook Cinema - Calgary, November 3, 2015, with Dr. Carlos Roman Cordourier Real. Music by Fernando Velázquez. Soundtrack: "Red Right Hand" - written by Mick Harvey, Nick Cave and Thomas Wydler, in permission of 'Mute Records [US]', performed by P.J. Harvey, Courtesy of ' Vagrant Records [US]'. Trivia: It is an American gothic romance film directed by Guillermo del Toro and written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins. Filming locations: Kingston, Ontario; Hamilton, Ontario; Dundurn Castle, Hamilton, Ontario; Pinewood Toronto Studios, Port Lands, Toronto, Ontario; Casa Loma, Toronto, Ontario (Casa Loma); Victoria College, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario; Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Reference: Notorious (1946) - "Enola" key situation based on "UNICA" key sequence. The first half of the end credits reveals that Edith adapted her experience in the film into a book titled "Crimson Peak". The Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures opening logos are bloody red with creepy music and humming in the background. Kingston Ontario was used as a shooting location. Market Square and Ontario Street doubled for Buffalo. Anachronism: The movie begins in the year 1901 (see Carter Cushing's checkbook date). A reference is made to an "autocar" - early reference to an automobile, picking up guests during the rain at Carter Cushing's home. A Ford Model-T, five-passenger touring car pulls up to the house, but the earliest Model T didn't appear until 1908, and it was marketed to the middle class. Automobiles in 1901 were barely more than the "horseless carriage" idea, with buggy-type bodies, wires wheels, and often only a front seat for two. Covered cars with second-row seats weren't readily available, and any vehicle would have been a very expensive, high-end car to function as a chauffeured vehicle for multiple riders in this upper class setting.

Trivia: It is a New Zealand mockumentary horror comedy film about a group of vampires who live together in Wellington. It was directed and written by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, who also star in the film. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2014. The film was theatrically released on August 18, 2014 by Madman Entertainment. The film earned $6.9 million on a $1.6 million budget. The film is based on a 2006 short film of the same name by Waititi and Clement. The new film was shot in Wellington in September 2012, and is Waititi's first feature since Boy. What We Do in the Shadows received critical acclaim and has a "Certified Fresh" score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
References: The Lost Boys (1987) - The vampires hypnotizing their victims to believe they are eating worms instead of noodles;
Sister Act (1992)- A character dresses up as Whoopi Goldberg's character from this movie;
Dracula (1992) - Vladislav based on the titular character;
Blade (1998) - A vampire dresses up as the character for Halloween;
Spoofs: Nosferatu (1922) - Petyr's design is based closely on Count Orlok from Nosferatu.
There is a brief "hypnotic" session at the very end of the credits.
The hill, where the vampires have a run-in with the werewolves, is the same hill filmed in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), where Frodo and the hobbits are running and hiding from the Black Rider under the roots of a tree.
More than 120 hours of footage was shot, most of which were improvisation from the leads.
The directors were able to bring screenings of the film to the United States after a successful Kickstarter fund-raising campaign.
Taika based his performance on his mother. Jemaine based his on Gary Oldman in Dracula (1992).
The character of Petyr was conceived as devoid of personality, but unscripted scenes of the actor in makeup were expensive so extra footage of the actor in makeup was shot, such as the scene of him listening to music.
There was talk of a spin off movie tilted 'what we do in the moonlight' which would have followed the werewolf pack.
A script was written but never shown to the actors. They would only get a description of the scene, and had to improvise it.
The bars and nightclubs the vampires visit are actual bars in Wellington's entertainment district based around Courtenay Place.
During the Unholy Masquerade, while the vampires are having a discussion about Stu, the cashier from the convenience store, to whom Nick had earlier revealed himself as a vampire, can be seen briefly in the foreground.
"Vlad" refers to himself as "Vlad the poker", which is similar name to the infamous "Vlad the impaler" the king of Romania in the middle ages.
During the scene in the bar when the viewer first meets Jackie, the song "The Captain" by The Phoenix Foundation is playing in the background. The band is based in Wellington, NZ, where the movie is set and filmed. Quotes: 1. Vladislav: "Leave me to do my dark bidding on the internet!" Viago: "What are you bidding on?" Vladislav: "I am bidding on a table." 2. Stu: [Showing the vampires Google] "Anything you want to find you type it in." Viago: "I lost a really nice silk scarf in about 1912." Deacon: "Yes, now Google it." Anachronisms: 1. The Unholy Masquerade is supposed to take place on June 6, 2013. After the vampires left the masquerade, they find the pack of werewolves stressed because of the full moon, which we later see. Actually that night the moon was actually on waning crescent. 2. At the beginning of the movie Viago's age is supposed to be 379 years; but it is stated by Vladislav that Viago was a 18th century dandy, before becoming a Vampire, nonetheless if he is 379 in 2013, this would mean he was born in 1,634 in the 17th century and more than a century before the the appearance of dandies.

The James Bond theme can be heard when the MGM and Columbia Pictures logos appear.
At fifty-one years of age when the film was released, Italian actress Monica Bellucci becomes the oldest ever actress to play a leading Bond Girl role beating Honor Blackman who was thirty-eight years old when she starred in Goldfinger (1964). Bellucci was born in 1964, the same year that Goldfinger (1964) was released.
Quote: Oberhauser: "Why did you come?" James Bond: "I came here to kill you." Oberhauser: "And I thought you came here to die." James Bond: "Well, it's all a matter of perspective."

The race track scenes in this film did not take place in Buenos Aries as the plot implies. The sequences at the race track were actually filmed at NOLA Motorsports Park, an auto racing facility located just outside of New Orleans in Avondale, LA. And the actual race cars used were provided by IndyCar race teams such as Andretti Autosport and Rahal Letterman Lannigan Racing. These are the same cars and teams that run in the Indianapolis 500.
Nicky's red and black sports car is a Peugeot RCZ.
The end credit song, "The Windmills of Your Mind" was used in scam movies The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999).
Quote: Jess: [suddenly sitting at his table] "Will you be my boyfriend? Just for a minute. You're not a serial killer, are you?" Nicky: "That depends. How many times does it take to get to 'serial'?" Jess: "Five." Nicky: "Oh, no, we're good."

Trivia: It is an American magic realism comedy-drama film directed by Thomas McCarthy and co-written with Paul Sado. The film stars Adam Sandler, Dan Stevens, Dustin Hoffman and Steve Buscemi. It was screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was released on March 13, 2015, by Image Entertainment. Filming locations:
New York City, New York, USA
110 Forsyth Street, Lower East Side, New York City, New York, USA (Max Simkin and Jimmy shops - exteriors shots).
References:
Dr. No (1962) - As Max begins to appreciate his position of being literally in other people's shoes and their lives, he says to himself, with a Sean Connery accent, "Bond. James Bond."
*batteries not included (1987) - Property developers want to buy an otherwise derelict apartment building. Protagonist attempts to save the building.
Franny's Feet (2003) (TV Series) - Protagonist can go on adventures by wearing a pair of customer's shoes.
This is Adam Sandler's and Steve Buscemi's tenth film together, after Grown Ups 2 (2013), Hotel Transylvania (2012), Grown Ups (2010), I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007), Mr. Deeds (2002), Big Daddy (1999), The Wedding Singer (1998), Billy Madison (1995) and Airheads (1994). In 2015, they will be co-staring for the eleventh time together in Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015).
Sandler means cobbler in Hebrew.
When Max first looks into the mirror and sees Leon's reflection, he says "oh boy" - a nod to the line said by Sam Beckett in the series Quantum Leap (1989), a program where the main character also changes into someone else.
When Max gets home from work and opens his fridge to pick a beverage, he has two options: a beer or a Yoohoo. The Yoohoo is a nod to Adam Sandler's film Big Daddy (1999) when he explains to the kids on the playground "Ya know what's good? Yoohoo with a bit of rum."
Dustin Hoffman and Fritz Weaver last both appeared in the same film in Marathon Man (1976).
Sandler is derived from the word "shoemaker" which is a cobbler's profession. Quote: Carmen Herrara: "I'm delivering groceries to one of our elderly neighbors." Max Simkin: "All by yourself?" Carmen Herrara: "Yeah, Max, I'm a bad ass."

Storyline: A misfit group of New Mexico cowboys find themselves on the journey of a lifetime when their undersized thoroughbred racehorse qualifies for the Kentucky Derby. Based on the inspiring true story of Mine That Bird, the cowboys face a series of mishaps on their way to Churchill Downs, becoming the ultimate underdogs in a final showdown with the world's racing elite. Mine That Bird pulls off a monumental upset (at 50-to-1 odds) by winning the 2009 Kentucky Derby. Trivia: It is an American drama film based on the true story of Mine That Bird, an undersized thoroughbred racehorse that won the 2009 Kentucky Derby in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the race. The film received a limited release on March 21, 2014. It was directed by Jim Wilson, who also co-wrote the script with Faith Conroy, and it stars Skeet Ulrich, Christian Kane and William Devane. Jockey Calvin Borel, who rode Mine that Bird to his upset Derby win, plays himself in the film. Filming locations: Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA; Louisville, Kentucky, USA; Sunland Park, New Mexico, USA; Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA; New Mexico, USA; Santa Anita Racetrack, California, USA (Breeders Cup Race). Songs "Somethings Got to Give" and "Whiskey in Mind" were both written and performed by Christian Kane who plays Mark Allen. Both songs are played in the bar scene where Alex is dancing and Chip needs to rescue her. The jockey in the final race of the movie, Calvin Borel, was the actual jockey riding Mine That Bird in the 2009 Kentucky Derby. Quote: Chip Woolley: "We've got a chance to be part of something truly great. Maybe we'll look stupid to some, but life ain't worth much if all you do is play it safe. It's about bein' out there, takin' chances."

Listen to Me Marlon. 2015 (Documentary), Starring Marlon Brando as Himself (voice) (archive footage). Movie Central, November 18, 2015. Soundtrack: Music by Stefan Wesolowski. Trivia: It is a documentary film written, directed and edited by Stevan Riley about the movie star and iconic actor Marlon Brando. The Village Voice calls it "a masterpiece" and David Edelstein lists it as "The greatest, most searching documentary of an actor ever put on film." According to Vanity Fair it "is a compelling documentary about Marlon Brando compiled entirely from private audio tapes the actor recorded at home, in business meetings, during hypnosis, in therapy, and during press interviews." In July, 2015, Listen To Me Marlon was released theatrically in the United States; screening in over 140 cities during a ten week run. The film has also recently been nominated for a Gotham Award. Variety writes Brando's "complexity is limned as well as a documentary possibly could manage... Made with the full cooperation of the Brando estate, the pic is a superbly crafted collage whose soundtrack is as complexly textured as the curation and editing of visual elements." As Rolling Stone magazine summed it up, "You want Brando Confidential? Fine, you've got it."

In a recent radio interview with Simon Mayo, Paul Bettany revealed that the teeth worn by Johnny Depp were a homage to legendary British actor Terry-Thomas.
In the book upon which the movie is based, Jock's unspoken last name is Strapp.
The producer wanted Carice van Houten for the female lead before Gwyneth Paltrow was cast.
This is Johnny Depp's third time work with Paul Bettany. They previously worked together on Transcendence (2014) & The Tourist (2010).
Mortdecai's comments about being an art dealer, accomplished fencer, and fair shot with most weapons in his opening voiceover are taken directly from Kyril Bonfiglioli's book jacket author biography.
The second film directed by David Koepp starring Johnny Depp. The first being the 2004 adaption of Stephen King's Secret Window (2004).
Paul Bettany played J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man trilogy who served as an aid to Tony Stark, as did Pepper Potts played by Gwyneth Paltrow.
Jock calls Charlie "Sir" 65 times in the film.
Both Johnny Depp and Jeff Goldblum have played Ichabod Crane, the protagonist in Sleepy Hollow.
Both Director David Koepp and Lead Actor Johnny Depp share the same Birthday - June 9, 1963.
Gwyneth Paltrow starred in The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), in which her love interest/non-blood brother's pet falcon was named Mordecai, which sounds like Mortdecai.
This movie was first released in the same 2015 year as a number of other spy, espionage, intelligence, and secret agent movies, with a couple of them also comedies. The movies include Spy (2015) [a Bond spoof]; Spectre (2015); Sicario (2015) [FBI; which has a title which is almost an anagram of Ian Fleming's "Risico" (1960) James Bond short-story bar the letter 'A']; Survivor (2015) starring Pierce Brosnan; Black Mass (2015) [FBI]; Mortdecai (2015) [has an MI5 agent lead character]; Queen of the Desert (2015) [central character was a WWI attaché to the British Secret Service]; the Bondian Furious 7 (2015); Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) [which shot in three of the same countries as Spectre (2015): Austria, England, & Morocco]; Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies (2015) [a cold war espionage thriller]; The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) [Ian Fleming was an original co-creator], MI-5 (2015) aka "MI-5"; and even Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) [a Bondesque homage], a 2014 film but which was mostly widely theatrically released in 2015. Also in theaters in 2015 from 2014, was Pierce Brosnan and Quantum of Solace (2008)'s Olga Kurylenko in The November Man (2014); and the heavily Oscar nominated World War II espionage film, The Imitation Game (2014). First released in 2014 were 3 Days to Kill (2014) and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014).
The razor that Emil drops while fighting Jock in the car, is the same razor from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), also starring Johnny Depp.
The entire scene with the sword fight in the room behind the art auction has parallel structure to the sword fight between Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) near the beginning of Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). The dialogue is very similar in content and tone.
Olivia Munn actually has a deleted scene in Iron Man 2 (2010) where she would also have been Gwyneth Paltrow's rival in for the male lead's affection. Quotes: 1. Mortdecai: "Your mother and father only knew each other for a day, and money changed hands." 2. Johanna: "It's a terrible moment when you finding yourself falling in love with your own spouse, isn't it?"

Trivia: It is an American–French drama film based on the 2008 novel of the same name by American author Ron Rash. Directed by Susanne Bier, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper as newlyweds running a timber business in 1930s North Carolina. Filming locations: Prague, Czech Republic; Czech Republic; Barrandov Studios, Prague, Czech Republic; Denmark.
Jennifer Lawrence recommended Bradley Cooper for the project. They had worked together previously on Silver Linings Playbook (2012) and they got along so well that they often spoke about working together again in the future. When Lawrence read the script for Serena (2014), she sent a copy to Cooper and asked if he would do it with her.
According to the director, the post-production of the film was complicated by the need for dialogue dubbing due to airplane noise during the shoot in Prague. Jennifer Lawrence was unable to show up for dubbing sessions. The producers of Serena tried to buy Lawrence out of filming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) for one day, but that proved to be more expensive than the budget of Serena itself.
The project was first announced as directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Angelina Jolie. They dropped out and were replaced by Susanne Bier (as the director) and Jennifer Lawrence.
Third project starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence; this is the second time they are playing love interests.
Serena was filmed in 2012, after Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper's then project, Silver Linings Playbook, wrapped production. Serena would premiere 2 years later at the London Film Festival.
The screenplay for this film was featured in the 2010 Blacklist; a list of the "most liked" unmade scripts of the year.
The film is written by Christopher Kyle, who shares the same name as the American military sniper Chris Kyle portrayed by Bradley Cooper in American Sniper. Anachronism: Jennifer Lawrence recommended Bradley Cooper for the project.
