(ASCAP), Courtesy of EMI Records Ltd., Under license from EMI Film & Television Music; "Marching Down the Field" - Composed by Harry Edwards, Courtesy of APM Music LLC. Trivia: 1. The character of Astro Boy first appeared in print as a manga in 1952 by Osamu Tezuka. This manga was adopted into the TV shows Astroboy, Shin Tetsuwan Atom and Astro Boy tetsuwan atomu. 2. A man in a red cap and glasses with a big nose appears in almost subliminal cameos throughout the film. This is the frequent self-caricature of Osamu Tezuka. 3. Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics" are referenced a few times throughout the film. They are first mentioned when the RRF are introducing themselves to Astro. The laws, paraphrased, are as follows:1) A robot may not harm a human being, or through inaction, allow a human to come to harm.2) A robot must obey orders given it by a human being, as long as doing so does not conflict with the First Law.3) A robot must protect its own existence, as long as such protection does not interfere with the First or Second Law. 4. Astroboy is called by his title name only by Hamegg, and only twice throughout the entire movie. Otherwise he's called Astro, Toby, Robot Boy, or Boy Robot. 5. Samuel L. Jackson only speaks 11 words in the entire movie: "I'm old school", "Not just people", "The blue stuff", and "No biggy". Quote: Ham Egg: You can't kill me! The rules of robotics were created 50 years ago! Zog (who is 100 years old): I'm old school.

My Grandmother Ironed the King's Shirts. 1999, Animated short by Torill Kove. Co-produced by Marcy Page of the National Film Board of Canada and Lars Tømmerbakke of Studio Magica in Norway, the film humorously recounts a tall tale about the filmmaker's grandmother in Oslo, Norway, during World War II, who actually ironed the shirts for Norway's King Haakon VII for many years. Awards for the film included a special prize from the Hiroshima International Animation Festival and a Golden Sheaf Award for best animation. The film was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 72nd Academy Awards. It was also included in the Animation Show of Shows. Financial support from the Norwegian Film Institute. Starring Mag Ruffman as Narrator (Canadian version) (voice). Movie Central, November 2, 2011. Movie Central, November 11, 2011. Plot: Jacob Glaser, disgraced award winning scientist and underground pseudo-science radio talk-show host, notices unusual spikes in the Earth's electromagnetic field which lead him to Stonehenge. Stonehenge has begun to move independently, build up an electromagnetic charge and release enough energy to vaporise people within a certain radius. Jacob theorises that Stonehenge is actually at the centre of a massive ancient terraforming machine, but must convince the scientists and military on site of this before it is too late and all life on Earth is destroyed in a series of volcanoes which are connected to Stonehenge through the Earth's electromagnetic field. Meanwhile Joseph Lesham, of the somewhat ambiguous past connection to Jacob, is actively working towards Earth's destruction in hopes that his cult followers will survive the Apocalypse, waiting it out in a heretofore undiscovered pyramid in Maine, and become the progenitors of the next era of life on Earth. The conclusion is a race for possession of the device which controls both the pyramid in Maine and the electromagnetic terraforming machine at Stonehenge.

Season of the Witch. 2011, Starring Nicolas Cage as Behman von Bleibruck, Ron Perlman as Felson, Claire Foy as Anna/The Girl, Stephen Campbell Moore as Debelzaq, Robert Sheehan as Kay von Wollenbarth, Ulrich Thomsen as Johann Eckhardt, Stephen Graham as Hagamar, Christopher Lee as Cardinal D'Ambroise, Rebekah Kennedy as Peasant Turk Girl, Andrew Hefler as Jail Bailiff, Fernanda Dorogi as Old Woman (Givaudon), Kevin Rees as Dying Monk, Matt Devere as Sergeant in Arms, Róbert Bánlaki as Livery Boy, Barna Illyés as Cardinal's Priest, Kevin Killebrew as Demon voice, Simone Kirby as Midwife, Elen Rhys as Peasant Girl, Nick Sidi as Priest, Rory MacCann as Soldier Commander, Nicola Sloane as Spinster, Ada Michelle Loridans as Mila, Lisa Marie Dupree as Tavern Girl; Soldiers: Gergely Horpácsi, László Imre, Norbert Kovács and Zsolt Magyari; Kirk Jordan as Crusader Knight and Brían F. O'Byrne as Grandmaster. Movie Central, November 12, 2011. Soundtrack: Music by Atli Orvarsson. 1. Behmen, 2. Season Of The Witch, 3. Road To Severac, 4. Wormwood, 5. Crossing The Bridge, 6. Anna & Kay, 7. Final Battle, 8. The Cardinal, 9. Felson & Kay Fight, 10. Deliver Us From Evil, 11. The Village, 12. 1235 A.D., 13. Dungeons, 14. Wolf Attack, 15. The Plague, 16. Trenches and 17. Eckhart’s Funeral. Anachronism: When Felson fights the altar boy Kay he states "stand and fight like a man you little jackrabbit". The jackrabbit is indigenous to regions of North America not Europe so a crusader in medieval times would be unaware of them. Storyline: A 14th century Crusader returns to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. A priest, a grieving knight, a disgraced itinerant and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl. When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardises the knight's pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.

Southern Roses Pt. II [1:25]. Trivia: 1. Lee Marvin (Marines), Telly Savalas (Army), Charles Bronson (Army), Ernest Borgnine (Navy) and Clint Walker (Merchant Marine) all served in World War II. 2. Production on the film ran for so long that Jim Brown was in danger of missing training camp for the up-coming 1967-1968 football season. As training camp and the NFL season approached, the NFL threatened to fine and suspend Brown if he did not leave filming and report to camp immediately. Not one to take threats, Brown simply held a press conference to announce his retirement from football. At the time of his retirement, Brown was considered to be one of the best in the game and even today is considered to be one of the NFL's all-time greats. 3. During the "Last Supper" scene, Maggot (Telly Savalas) is in the Judas position of the Leonardo Da Vinci painting, before betraying the team during its mission. 4. The operation count-off is as follows: - One: down to the road block we've just begun - Two: the guards are through - Three: the Major's men are on a spree - Four: Major and Wladislaw go through the door - Five: Pinkley stays out in the drive - Six: the Major gives the rope a fix - Seven: Wladislaw throws the hook to heaven - Eight: Jiminez has got a date - Nine: the other guys go up the line - Ten: Sawyer and Gilpin are in the pen - Eleven: Posey guards points Five and Seven - Twelve: Wladislaw and the Major go down to delve - Thirteen: Franko goes up without being seen - Fourteen: Zero hour, Jiminez cuts the cable Franko cuts the phone - Fifteen: Franko goes in where the others have been - Sixteen: we all come out like it's Halloween. 5. Robert Aldrich was told that he could be in line for an Oscar as Best Director for the film if he cut out the scene of Jim Brown dropping hand grenades into the bomb shelter. The scene was considered controversial because the Germans (including women) were locked inside the bunker and had no chance to survive. Aldrich considered it but elected to leave the scene in to show that "war is hell". 6. As film production ran over-schedule, Frank Sinatra advised 'Trini López' to quit so that his recording career wouldn't lose it's momentum or popularity. So Lopez took Sinatra's advice and quit. (Or, according to another account, his agent unwisely demanded more money, which Robert Aldrich refused to grant. Originally, Lopez's character, Jiminez, was supposed to be one of the heroes. He was to be the one to ignite all of the dynamite that would destroy the entire chateau. But with Lopez's abrupt departure, his character was written off as being killed during the parachute jump. 7. Out of all the talented actors in this film, John Cassavetes was honoured to be nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor. Anachronisms: 1. In the beginning when Major Reisman is being given his mission, one of the officers speaking to him wears the ribbon for the Army Commendation medal (green with white stripes). The scene is set in 1944, yet Congress did not institute this medal until 1945. 2. The C-47 Dakota aircraft used in the jump scenes at parachute school is marked with the American white star in a blue roundel. This national insignia was replaced on American aircraft by the more familiar white star and bars on 30 June 1943. 3. The truck they are riding in while in town during the war games is an M-37 Dodge. This truck wasn't made until 1953, well after WWII. 4. The clothing and hairstyles worn by the women in the "graduation ball" are 1967 hairstyles. The film is set in 1944. 5. The ambulance in the movie is a M43 ambulance made during the Korean war (1950-1953) and not WWII (1939-1945). 6. Col. Breed wears Senior Parachutist Wings throughout this picture. This qualification badge did not exist until 1949, five years after the setting. 7. In several scenes where Col. Breed's men are knocked down, you can see they are wearing "trouser blousers" (a sort of bungee cord with hooks at both ends) to blouse their trousers. The correct method of blousing trousers at the time (and still in airborne units) is to tuck the trousers into the boots. This was the only method possible in 1944, the time portrayed in this film, when airborne troops were the only ones allowed to blouse class A or B trousers. "Trouser blouser" cords didn't come along until the late 1950's. 8. General Worden's barracks cap has gold braid on the visor, incorrect for the World War II period. Douglas MacArthur was the only U.S. Army general who wore a cap (of his own design) with unauthorized gold-braid on the visor during WWII.

Quotes: 1. John: There's just no point hating someone you love. 2. John: Why couldn't God make me Elvis? Julia: 'Cause he was saving you for John Lennon! Anachronisms: 1. Although George Smith's grave says he died in June 1955, he is seen listening to the Hancock's Half Hour episode The Diary, which was first broadcast Dec 30 1956. 2. After celebrations marking his 17th birthday (in 1957) John Lennon is shown drinking from, and then hurling into the Mersey, a 'Nonic' pint glass of the type not invented until 1960. 3. When John is riding on the bus roof, the roadside below has double yellow parking lines, a quarter of a century before they were introduced. 4. When John wakes up at the waterfront, a modern car ferry is visible in the background. 5. The cigarettes smoked seem rather 'king sized' for the era, when Players and Woodbine were prevalent. 6. A Pono ukulele is shown in the music shop, a brand that didn't exist until the 1980s.

Storyline: Whilst making a silent film about the life of the legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, veteran actor 'Tom Mix' (Bruce Willis) discovers that the real Earp (James Garner) is on the film set as a technical advisor. The two become friends, but when a murder takes place, the two become partners and set about tracking down the killer. Trivia: 1. John Fountain portrays his real-life grandfather, actor John Gilbert. 2. Although the film's plot is mostly fiction, it is true that Wyatt Earp and Tom Mix were friends. After retiring from law-enforcement work, Earp and his wife drifted around, eventually setting in Los Angeles where he and Mix met. They became good friends and Mix even tried to get Hollywood to produce a movie about Earp, but they weren't interested. Earp was, however, hired as a technical consultant for movies starring Mix and William S. Hart. When Earp passed away in 1929, Mix and Hart were his pallbearers. 3. Sunset uses 1929 as its setting. Wyatt Earp died in January 1929 at the age of 80. James Garner was actually a little young for the role; in 1988 he was only 60 years old. Garner previously played Wyatt Earp in the John Sturges Western, Hour of the Gun. 4. Very loosely based on the death of Thomas H. Ince aboard William Randolph Hearst's yacht, a topic dealt with in more realistic fashion in The Cat's Meow. 5. Thomas Edwin "Tom" Mix (born Thomas Hezikiah Mix) January 6, 1880 – October 12, 1940) was an American film actor and the star of many early Western movies. He made a reported 336 films between 1910 and 1935, all but nine of which were silent features. He was Hollywood’s first Western megastar and is noted as having helped define the genre for all cowboy actors who followed. 6. Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp (March 19, 1848 – January 13, 1929) was an American gambler, investor, and law enforcement officer who served in several Western frontier towns. He was also at different times a farmer, teamster, bouncer, saloon-keeper, miner and boxing referee. He is most well known for his part in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral during which three outlaw Cowboys were killed. The 30-second gunfight would define the rest of his life. Earp's modern-day reputation is that of Old West's "toughest and deadliest gunman of his day." 7. After drawing his gun, Tom Mix's gun is in his holster and in his hand at the same time throughout the gunfight at his ranch. 8. Wyatt Earp died before the 1929 Academy Awards ceremonies took place. Quotes: 1. Wyatt Earp: Cheryl, I'm old enough to be your father. Cheryl King: Wyatt, you're old enough to be my grandfather. 2. Wyatt Earp: It's all true, give or take a lie or two. 3. [last title card] Title Card: ...and that's the way it really happened. Title Card: Give or take a lie or two.

Trivia: 1. Phoenix, a French rock band, contributed the film's score. Coppola is married to Thomas Mars, the band's singer. 2. A number of the dialogs were improvised by the actors, notably the things said by Sammy (Chris Pontius) to Cleo (Elle Fanning). This was done in order to provoke genuine surprise from Fanning. Pontius, in fact, was specifically chosen for his improvisation skills, as well as his good rapport with children. 3. Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning spent a lot of time together prior to the shoot in order to build the father-daughter relationship their characters have. For example, Dorff sometimes picked Fanning up after school. 4. There is no dialogue until 15:02 into the film. Storyline: The film follows Johnny Marco, a newly famous actor, as he recuperates from a minor injury at the Chateau Marmont, a well-known Hollywood retreat. Despite money, fame and professional success, Marco is trapped in an existential crisis and feels little emotion during his daily life. When his ex-wife suffers an unexplained breakdown and goes away, she leaves Cleo, their 11-year-old daughter, with him. They spend time together; her presence helps Marco mature and accept adult responsibility. The film explores ennui among Hollywood stars, the father-daughter relationship and offers an oblique comedy of show business, particularly Hollywood film-making and the life of a "star".

The speech footage of President FDR proposing a "Second Bill of Rights" was believed to be lost until Michael Moore's film crew rediscovered it in a South Carolina library in 2008. Quote: Michael Moore: I refuse to live in a country like this, and I'm not leaving. Storyline: The film centers on the late-2000s financial crisis and the recovery stimulus, while putting forward an indictment of the current economic order in the United States and capitalism in general. Topics covered include Wall Street's "casino mentality", for-profit prisons, Goldman Sachs' influence in Washington, D.C., the poverty-level wages of many workers, the large wave of home foreclosures, corporate-owned life insurance, and the consequences of "runaway greed". The film also features a religious component where Moore examines whether or not capitalism is a sin and if Jesus would be a capitalist.
